The shrine is in St Marys. A really nice lady named mary let us peek and let me take some pics. She gave my husband all the history and details which was so super nice of her. I think she said they started construction around 1870. There is a cemetery behind the cathedral.
The cathedral is spectacular .. i very much enjoyed the visit and if i live nearby I'd come just to hear the pipe organ play. by the way its not air conditioned.

Can't say enough of how amazing and beautiful this church/shrine is. Worth a drive to it, and stop in the gift shop as well. Want to give an extra thanks to MARY at the shop who literally stayed late to take my Sis and I through the church/shrine after we had just come from the Cleveland Clinic...so as you can imagine, it was an emotional stop for us. Thanks again Mary, and God bless you all for this spectacular site!

After the fire in 2014 it was moved to the left side of the church and reopened . The votive candles emote great feelings of sadness and hope.

For any Catholic seeking support for health then go see St. Dyphna. Kind people will open the church for you and the renovation of St. Dyphna’s Shrine and Church is amazing.

Visited the Shrine on our route, and we were given a short tour by a nice lady named Mary. She gave us literature as well, and also took out the Holy Cross for everyone to touch, as it was a 3rd degree relic of St. Dymphna.
Nice giftshop at the side of the church, and a small prayer room with a nice stained glass covering one side of the wall of the room.

We visited on a weekday afternoon to see the Saint Dymphna shrine. The shrine is in the back of the church and you are guided through by a member of the gift shop staff. She was very friendly and let us take our time. While in the church, she gave us a brief history and let us look around and stop for brief prayer. The church is, in my opinion, one of the nicest Catholic churches in the area. It did not cost anything to visit the shrine (unless of course you purchase something from the gift shop.) There is off street parking and we didn't have difficulty finding a spot because we weren't there during a mass. It was a blessing to visit the shrine and church and we would love to come again.

there are several interesting old churches in town; we didn't go in any of them but found the exterior architecture interesting
