it was an amazing experience to walk where early LDS pionners walked and the historic tour are very informative and helpful. I thinks members or no members will love and feel great learning about this place. Just love it!

If you're LDS or are interested in the beginnings of the church this is a must see stop. We had a great tour given by two sister missionaries. Our teenagers enjoyed the tour as well!

The Nativity Exhibit which is only on display for a limited time at Christmas, is well worth the visit. Approximately 1000 nativities are displayed, with many from around the world. The way they are displayed is beautifully accomplished, and it is easy for each to be seen. The volunteers are exceptionally pleasant, and truly happy for your visit. Little children... More

This place should be on the "to-see" list for every member of the LDS church because of the historic events that transpired here or nearby, and the site provides an educational insight into life in the 1830s for persons of any religion.

There is so much history in this area and especially for the LDS faith. It was beautifully restored and preserved. The guides (missionaries) are knowledgeable and very personable. The events that took place here are incredible and sad at the same time. The persecution to religious freedom is mind boggling in our time but the dedication and faith of those... More

Kirtland was a vibrant community in the 1830s. A major road leading from the shipping areas of Lake Erie brought transportation and access to goods. You can tour a restored ashery, saw mill, general store, and residences. The guides are knowledgeable and pleasant. This was an important historical Mormon community, their first temple is nearby, and the village is manned... More

We had been by Kirtland on the interstate many times but had never stopped, partly because we are ordained in another denomination and did not want to get in a big doctrinal debate with a tour guide. My worst fears seemed to be realized when the older gentleman in charge found out we were not LDS, he pulled us out... More
