This zoo has lost the plot. I visited with friends after a 2 year absence and what a difference. It used to be world class but it is just another zoo today. The safari trip was uncomfortable and the commentary insulting to the mostly adult passengers. No facts about the animals and we soon tired of "isn't he big" whenever... More

We visited the Werribee Open Range Zoo on our way home to Melbourne after a visit to Geelong and it was lots of fun. We joined the bus for the 'Safari Tour' and enjoyed the commentary along the way and seeing all the animals in a more natural setting than at a normal zoo. There were lots of parents there... More

It's a zoo without feeling like a zoo. Enclosures are good sizes and spaced out well. Safari bus ride through the "open plains" is a highlight (which is included in the entry fee). Kids are free on school holidays and weekends so great incentive to go. Would recommend bringing your own lunch as there are plenty of places around the... More

Visited Werribee Open Range Zoo in April, 2017. It was a beautiful sunny day and kids loved the safari ride. The "Werribee Zoo" jingle still plays in my head. Zoo is well spread out with relatively limited collection of animals, unlike Singapore Zoo, but the place offers excellent family outing with loads of space. Unfortunately, we only had 2-3 hours.... We visited Werribee Zoo last year and we were quite disappointed with the lack of animals that we saw. But I do appreciate that they have large enclosures to keep the animals comfortable. Probably wouldn't go back in a hurry.

We did this zoo on our last day of our stay. Entrance fee includes a tour of the open plains zoo on their buses, you just line up and join a tour. We were there on a weekend and the children are FREE.

I was in Werribee on a stormy afternoon and I was in the bus #439, hoping maybe when I got to the Zoo, the weather would be better, but it did not. What a pity.

the zoo is nice enough, i thought when we got into the trailer we would get closer than we did to the animals which was disapointing, outside needs a little cleaning up i think.

Visited Werribee open range zoo on Easter Monday so the park was very busy, but the you still didn't wait long to get on the tour bus. The buses were great as they are open with great vision all around. I sat with my 5 year old grandson and we were both amazed at how close the animals came to... More
