I did the long walk today around 1.5 hours for the 4.5 km. Easy enough and saw a kookaburra and a couple of wallabies only. No kangaroos although I was looking. A nice walk to do if on the island.

Nice to see a healthy patch of (replanted) bushland on the Island. Housing developments everywhere mean there won’t be much bushland left soon. We did the shortest walk from Harrison Road car park. Bush is lovely though dry and dusty. I used (20+ years ago) to have no trouble finding koalas in the trees on Phillip Island, however all four of us looked carefully today and found none. Sad that they are dying out.

This was a ride on gravel paths. There were a few tracks to take. There were birds and wallabies... no koalas seen! We passed a few wetland areas. Very good example of bush.

A lovely park with super walks. We went here on a cool but sunny day and really enjoyed the long walk of 4.6k.There are also a short walk and a medium walk.We saw a couple of wallabies and some kookaburras but no koalas. The long walk is suggested to take 3 hours but at a modest pace actually takes well under 2 hours

Saw plenty of wallabies and enjoyed a lovely walk from the car park on Harbison Rd. Not the best walk on island but well worth a look if nearby or in town for a few days

Strolling on gravel is not only unnatural but noisy. They write that it takes 3 hours to do a circle of 4.5km....
Not much to see, certainly no Koala

Best accessed either via Harbison Road - which is the main entrance with a decent sized car park - or via the Cowes-Rhyll Road where there is a smaller parking area this bushland reserve may have koala in its name but there is no guarantee of seeing one.

That said it is a pleasant enough stroll and has the advantage of being one of the lesser known reserves on Phillip Island so you have a decent chance of not being mobbed by the hordes. Still, over the summer school holiday season the island is full and there is no escape!

Otherwise though this is a mellow walk that takes a little while as it is a few kilometres long if you are doing a return walk (ie not being picked up on the other side) and the trails are well defined. A few options are available and you can even extend your walk into the Rhyll conservation area if you wish.

Not a leading light but a pleasant afternoon stroll.
