From start to finish this was a magic day. All staff were delightful, friendly & fun. I did the Queenstown Explorer from Strahan to Queenstown return with my elderly parents & aunt. We all thoroughly enjoyed the day and were most fortunate to have Tom as our guide who was not only informative but extremely entertaining. He sat with us... More

Always had a soft spot for steam engines and this afternoon trip was wonderful. We opted for the works with the high tea and were justly rewarded. The commentary was well done and the staff were very friendly. The scenery was truly amazing and one wonders how much hardship went into building the railway so many years ago. I rate... More

Had an enjoyable train ride from Strahan and it was a nice experience but felt it was too expensive for what it was. $100 per person did not include anything in fact even tea and coffee had to be purchased. Since then have done other cheaper tours that did include afternoon tea etc. The honey tasting was ok but did... More

We had a fantastic day on the Wilderness Train . This was worth every penny we spent. The commentary was very professionally conducted telling us about the History of the train and the Miners , Queenstown and Strahan. The train which was been lovingly restored , had lots of stops at all the stations along the way as it travelled... More

This is a delightful way to spend an afternoon. The commentary was informative and fun. The trip was great and the stops were well spaced and the walks were well graded.

This activity exceeded our expectations. The train, the track and the buildings are all maintained in a first class condition. We booked seats in the Wilderness Carriage on the Queenstown explorer which was a full day return trip from Strahan to Queenstown. The restored carriages were well appointed and the viewing platform enabled unobstructed photography. The knowledgeable staff kept us... More

Did the full day return trip from Strahan to Queenstown return. Slow journey through spectacular scenery made for a relaxing day. Several stops included while train re-watered gave a chance to stretch the legs and explore the history of the line. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, the drivers were very willing to have a chat at the breaks. Would... More

We did the full day trip to Queenstown through some amazing Rain Forrest areas with some fantastic viewing. The history of the area is incredible and an extremely tough working environment. The Train & carriages have been expertly restored and the engineering of the rail system is quite unique with the Rack & Pinion parts of the track. Kara our... More

We had a wonderful trip from Strahan to Dubbil Barril complemented by a day where the weather was great. The staff were really friendly, and knowledgeable on the history of the line and the district as a whole. The train itself was beautiful and the restoration exemplary. The scenery was spectacular especially given the history of the Queen and King... More
