Amazing

You can go on a guided tours. They run ferry cruises around the bay. There is a magnificent cafe. The only other thing I can say is "Pot Arthur is just amazing".

Port Arthur is full of interesting Australian history. It's a World Heritage site & is definitely worth spending a day visiting it. The walking tour is great way to get an overview of what happened there & there is a boat cruise included as part of the entrance fee of $27.

Visited the site today on a day when the weather was pretty poor and extremely cold. Did the walking tour, the island tour and the point tour. We found it very interesting and found the guides amazing despite the weather. Found the site amazingly manicured and truly a must see!

Port Arthur is not the sort of place to visit just to tick off a list. It is a site of real significance in Australian history and it will require at least a day to properly see it (more than one day will be needed to try to do all the tours that are available within the site). Allow at... More

Seems they may have many full time gardeners looking after this place. It is immaculate, green and not a piece of litter to be found anywhere. Plenty of tours or just roam freely for hours on end.

Enjoyable and beautiful but not something to go out of your way for, as you're realistically not going to spend more than 2-3 hours here. We did it on the way back from seeing the natural wonders of the Peninsula, which is much more impressive in my books. Tour guides are excellent and well informed.

Super interesting historic site. Spent the day here via a tour and loved it. Wish I had known about some of the other add-on tours you can do once there (Island of the Dead, Ghost tours, etc), but still really enjoyed it and learned a ton.

Well done to everyone at Port Arthur. From the moment we stepped foot on the property we were transported back in time. Good for all, easy to get around, the boat cruise was a nice touch. The gardens are stunning! The setting is unbelievably beautiful. The memorial to those slain was particularly poignant. Highly recommend a day trip to Port... More

This historic site has been beautifully kept and maintained. Unfortunately a lot of the original buildings were destroyed by fire in the late 1800's, but have been restored for all to enjoy. This site depicts a sad story, but provides a great history lesson in an amazing part of the world. The memorial garden around the Broadarrow Cafe is a... More
