The Russell Falls is in the Mount Field National Park, not far from the National Parks visitors centre. The walk up to the falls wasnt too far, uphill most of the way, but even with a replacement knee I managed it ok. Take care in wet weather as the path can become slippery. Nice to experience the Falls and take... More

Easy 20 minute walk to these fab waterfalls, but we extended the walk to two further falls via the big tree trail which was fantastic! A very special place.

Don't miss visiting these iconic Falls. The walk up to Horseshoe Falls is a lot of steps and the Falls are much smaller.

We did the Russell falls and Horseshoe falls loop walk and they were amazing. We were fortunate to be here after a weekend of heavy rain and both waterfalls were gushing at full strength. A very easy walk to the Russell falls on a paved path. The Horseshoe falls were harder to get to as it was a dirt path... More

I've been coming here since I was a child but do not remember there to be as much water or velocity as this time. It was beautiful! I love the scent of earthiness and sound of the gushing water. We walked to Lady Barron and Horseshoe falls where the horseshoe image was really apparent. Lovely maintained trails.

The walk to the falls is easy and wheelchair accessible, the walk also has labelled trees and features to showcase all that this short walk can show of the natural world. The National Park Service deserves credit for this. The falls maintain their grandeur, but we visited during a period of very heavy rain and the falls don't seem to... More

The waterfall is about a 75 minute drive from Hobart and is part of the national park. Therefore you will need a park pass to enter. There is a well formed track from the park office to the waterfall which is about a 15 minute walk each way. We were there during a period of relatively heavy rain and the... More

This is an easy walk with young kids. Our group ranged from 3 years to 9 years old and then 30's to 60's. it was beautiful to experience a rainforest for the first time. Met other Canadians along the trail at the same time.

We found a window of opportunity between showers and took our 11 week old for a wander to the falls. A good sealed walkway, beautiful moss and vegetation and spectacular falls! Worth the small effort required!
