We did this on a wet day, and it was great. There was a 15 minute video, which was interesting, but a bit boring for my young kids - being told that we didn't have to sit through it and could wait for the tour would have been good. The tour was informative and your see 4 platypus and 3... More

The Platypus House offers short tours and set times each day, and these run before/after the tours at Seahorse World next door. It's expensive for what it is and there's little to do if waiting for a tour to start. The tour commences with a short video followed by a talk. Guests are taken into a room and asked to... More

Learnt so much about platypus, Georga, our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the animals in her care. The viewing tanks allowed you to clearly see the feeding habits and behaviors of the platypus. The highlight of the visit for my daughter was the echidna enclosure and having 3 very tame echidnas wandering around her.

This had been a highlight for my son who is mad about platypus's. A small place where there are 4 or 5 platypus's . We watched a video at first, learning about platypus's and how they really are hard for scientists to study as they are just so shy and like to hide.. Walked into where the tanks are and... More

Much like Seahorse world, but a little smaller, but with 4 kids a little dearer. it cost 69 dollars and really you are in and out in under and hour. The platypuses are interesting to see, but I think there are only 4 or 5 in a couple of tanks. There were 3 echidna's. Now, our kids enjoyed it, but... More

Great presentation of two of our unique Australian animals. It's a small intimate encounter with Platypus and Echidna which are both gorgeous while the presentation is very informative.

I think all previous positive reviews have pretty much covered everything that needs to be written about Platypus World. Our tour guide, Claire, was lovely, and just like our tour guide at Seahorse World, she went out of her way to ensure our wheelchair bound guest didn't miss out on anything. Probably the highlight of this tour, was sitting on... More

This tour involved a short video which was fine and gave some background to the early life of a platypus. You are then taken to see some platypus. The male is kept separate from the females. When we went through, the females were hiding in their boxes so the guide put out some food for them and we went through... More

We travelled here especially to see platypus up close since we'd had no looking quietly observing them for hours in the wild. It wasn't at all what we were expecting, we did imagine there would be 20ish Platypus and you'd walk around like an aquarium (didn't do our research), so was a little gutted to only see 4 and they...
