Where else in the world can you see Platypus up close and personal. There are five platypo that are shown off on personalized a tour. Enjoyed the narration and learned more than I thought possible about this charming animal.

We had an amazing tour yesterday at the Platypus house. Probably one of the best experiences I have had. We had a 1 year old and 2 1/2 year old with us and Tracy our tour guide was just amazing. She was very patient and was lovely with the kids, went above and beyond answering my daughters question (even the... More

The lady guide was friendly, humorous and knowledgeable abut the platypus and echidnas. The guided tour gave opportunities to see and photograph the platypus in tanks and a pond.Although not allowed to touch the echidnas they walk freely around you while the guide tells you about them and feeds them to give you photo opportunities.Gift shop and coffee shop after tour as... Take a drive out to Beauty Point to visit the Platyus and Echidna House and you will be well informed and entertained by the guide. An activity, which is suitable for all members of the family, you can get up close to photograph and observe the animals in the recreated habitat. The short film before the tour is extremely interesting... More

Great to learn something about the platypus. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful. My son was taken ill and Tracy was great, allowing him to sit quietly in the office with a fan and cold water and then inviting him to come back on another day when he felt better. She is an asset to the business and I can't thank... More

We went through the Platypus House as part of a tour. It was a very interesting hands on experience to see animals not found on the North American continent. I was surprised to see how close we could come to the animals. Very educational.

This is quite an interesting place to go see some of Tassie's native wonders, the echidna and the platypus. The tour was informative, and there are good berry ice creams sold at the front counter for a sunny summer's day. I visited this place quite a while ago, and I'm not entirely sure of any new additions that may have... More

We desperately needed to find shelter from a rainy day in Launceston, and thought that Platypus house would satisfy that basic need and also allow the kids to check out a bit of local aussie fauna. Once inside and out of the rain, we ordered coffees which were also great! The kids (1 years old) were free, however adults are... More

We visited Platypus House as part of a family triple pass to nearby Seahorse World and the Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Centre. This pass offered great value for money. Tours run on the hour & we arrived a little late so missed the intro video but were offered the opportunity to return & view it. I don't think we missed... More
