Standing on top of the picturesque summit, I couldn’t believe I’d never heard of this place before visiting Tenterfield. Bald Rock is an amazing, steep climb up sheer rock. Those less sure on their feet can take the easy track, but tackling the rock head-on...More

Getting to the Bald Rock summit is well worth the effort. When you come to the fork offering a steeper climb distance of only 1.2kms and the more gradual walk being 2.5kms, I recommend you take the longer option unless you are young and fit....More

We took our kids aged 9,7,5 & 3. All of them made it straight up the rock face. I did as well even though I have a mobility problem. Once on top, the views are fantastic & the sheer size of the rock is incredible....More

Walking straight up the rock face is for the extremely fit! We did it, but we had to stop and rest about 4 times to catch our breath again. We walked back the longer path which was much easier. If you're doung this climb, I...More

The threat of rain precluded our planned loop walk but we managed to climb part way up the steep path and enjoyed the wonderful views of the streaked granite slopes. The rock and the surrounding bushland are very attractive - don't forget your camera. Also...More

Spectacular views and scenery. I camped at bald rock for the night and made my way up the rock face to catch the sunrise in the early morning. What an amazing experience it was. Unfortunately just after sunrise there was a fair bit of fog...More

We walked the long gentler way up to the summit, which is well worth doing. The trail winds its way through some fantastic boulder formations that you walk under and through. The summit is spectacular & coming back down the steep rock face was a...More

Wonderful walk. Loved it. The signage once you start the walk at intersections isn't so great. If you want to take the shortest route go straight to Bald Rock. Don't pay any attention to the board which says its hard. With good shoes it's physical,...More

This is one of my favourite National Park and my 2nd time there. A must do if you are in the area. We started uphill with the Bungoona Track (the easier one and good if you have children with you) to the Summit and it...More

Hi. You do have to pay a day visitor's fee per vehicle at the National Park. I can't remember how much it is, but it is only a modest amount. At the little information bay there, you put cash into an envelope which is... More
