I actually live close to Bald Rock and never tire of visiting this site, the Rock itself is the second largest Monolith after Ayers Rock in Australia. There is now a walking track around the rock that brings you to the top. Once reaching the...More

This was one of our favourite walks on a 3 week trip. Sealed road all the way from Tenterfield (29km) to carpark makes travel here accessible for all vehicles. There are several walks available from here with starting points, distances and times, all well signposted....More

Take the long way to the top as it is much more spectacular. Take a camera and water, making sure the weather is good. Never climb on a rainy day or if it has been raining.

Brilliant walk and beautiful scenery. The climb up the face was not as difficult as expected. The boulder formations were amazing. A park not to be missed it visiting the Tenterfield area.

My children and I visited the park over the weekend and had a wonderful time. The walk up to Bald Rock is lovely at the moment with all the rock orchids and many pretty flowers around. It's an easy gradient and you won't be disappointed...More

We stayed at Bald rock campground, just next to the Bald rock. Just 20 minutes walk from campground to the beginning of the rock. It was quite freezing in the night, and was off season so luckily wasn't as busy. But if you wanna hike...More

Bald rock is a great walk for all. The there are 2 tracks to get to the top of the rock. One is easy the other more challenging. Such an amazing view from the top. A basic camping ground and picnic area at the base...More

Took the slow easy path up to the top... then the steep "lean back as you descend" path down. Lots of picture opportunities.

Remote in the bush but lots of parking and camping. Honor system for entry ($8 for the car for the day) so must have correct change. Went up the easier long route and down the steep rock face. Walk down looks intimidating, and is, but...More

Yes - it doesn't take long. It's steep on the way up - so it depends on how fit you are - but probably about an hour, and less to return.

Hi. You do have to pay a day visitor's fee per vehicle at the National Park. I can't remember how much it is, but it is only a modest amount. At the little information bay there, you put cash into an envelope which is... More

The camping area at bald Rock is not that large so it would not take too many to fill it up especially at holiday times and looking at the facilities I would not like to be there if it was. However the advice to ring the... More
