Enjoyed our walk to the summit of Bald Rock, largest granite monolith in the Southern Hemisphere.

Peaceful, beautiful nature. Great view from Summitt. Easier to walk up long way and come down rock face,

This trail in Bald Rock NP has two options, one takes you to the summit in a shorter, yet more difficult almost vertical ascent. The other, takes you on a longer but gentler and from my point of view, more interesting area. The forest of tall eucalypts and other trees is nice and as you approach the summit area, the... More

The signs say the 3km walk to the top ( round trip) will take you 3 hours. We took a very leisurely 2hours to do it which involved lots of stopping to admire the view and take photos. Half our group went the steep way, which they didn't brave on the way down as the rain appeared which made the... More

Only a short (half hour) drive on bitumen road from Tenterfield, this "geological gem" is a "must-see" for all visitors. Nice picnic areas and a fair-to-middling camping grounds. add to the desirability of Bald Rock National Park. A couple of walks of varying lengths plus the optional (and very rewarding) climb up the rock will make your day one well... More

This was my second climb of Bald Rock, and it is just as awe-inspiring as the first time. The views from the rock are absolutely stunning, as is the rock itself. I would recommend doing the longer walk to the rock rather than the shorter, direct ascent. The longer walk has so many orchids to see, as well as several... More

You'll need to be fit to do this. It's more of a climb than a walk though you can do it on 2 feet. Be sure to wear good grippy shoes. Don't attempt it in wet weather as the pyramid rockface is steep and bare. Nevertheless we saw a team of around 10 happy kids who couldn't have been more... More

Very beautiful area. There are 2 ways to the top...choose carefully. One is a meandering trail to the top, with a gradual incline. The other is to climb the face of the rock. This is the quicker and more direct route, but is not for the faint hearted. It is doable, but not for someone who is nervous of heights.... More

We climbed up the face of the rock which requires some degree of fitness but if you take your time it is absolutely worth it. The views from the top are magic. We wandered around for a while and then took the scenic route down through the bush which was just as pretty. Take plenty of water.

In our senior tears we still managed to climb the face of Bald Rock. Expansive views from the top, and the longer, more gentle walk down was stunning.
