The price was sensible, they allow you to bring your own drinks and food, and take you ashore to explain local points of interest. The sunset cruise offers the best option for photos of dramatic sunsets.

A fabulous detour on our way west and you can access on bitumen if you come from Broken Hill but it's dirt only from the East (Wilcannia or Ivanhoe)! Luckily the lakes were brimming and the wildlife spectacular on our visit. This is a chain...More

I was truly amazed by the immensity of the lakes. It is truly a photographer's paradise from every angle. However I am extremely disappointed that we didn't stay the night for one of the magnificent sunsets.

Large lake somewhat off the beaten track with many many dead trees around it. Burke and Wills campsite is nearby.

This lake system has spectacular views particularly at dawn and sunset. The bird life is all that one could hope for.

Day trip from Broken Hill to spend a day kayaking the lakes and loved it. Paddling through the iconic dead trees in the middle of no-where with easy access to the water's edge, cant ask for more than that. Had a great day

Menindee Lakes is a chain of shallow lakes which is connected to the Darling River. It is an oasis in an otherwise dry land. It is only a shame we didn't have more time to spend at Lake Menindee. The lake is so picturesque and...More

Menindee lakes is a photographers dream. Head to sunset strip...at sunset! The colours in the sky are amazing and the trees in the lake make a great subject.

There is no laundromat in Menindee, the closest is in Broken Hill. The caravan park, however, in Menindee has a laundry which you may be able to use. Hope this helps.

The road conditions vary depending on any rainfall. The Tourist Information office in Broken Hill will provide a daily report on all local road conditions.
