Really enjoyed my visit to this museum in the gorgeous town of Gulgong. Well set out and lots of interesting information. Just one thing - it would of been good if the very loud radio had been turned down when visitors are there - difficult...More

A fascinating Museum with much history about the man himself and the surrounding area of Gulgong. Many copies of his works are available in both books and cds by Leonard Teale and Jack Thompson. True homage to a great Australian poet and storyteller. Well worth...More

I went to the Henry Lawson with a friend during mid April/18. It is mainly a self guided museum. There was a young lady who helped as a volunteer to receive payments off us, the lady was "not very friendly." I would have being nice...More

Went here recently when we visited Mudgee and we were a little disappointed. The displays we mostly just re-creations not items directly associated with Henry Lawson. The displays were a little hap-hazard and there just wasn't all that much. But it only cost $7 so...More

We came as a group and had a short presentation about Henry, and then time to view the exhibits. The impression we got was that Henry, while talented, had a hard time finding his place in life.

Well laid out information and some surprising detail all about the poet, who was considered a local to this region. They have a festival each year in his honour. We spent a pleasant hour wandering around the displays.

An agonising experience and yet really fascinating. Henry Lawson's life spans a period of change, but also shows the struggles of a very deaf alcoholic trying to keep grips on life. On an obviously small budget the local community has striven to present a fair...More
