The museum is located "round the back" of Gatwick airport in the small village of Charlwood and unless you knew it was there you unfortunately might not realise what you are missing out on. It has recently undergone some changes with a new hangar being built and most the aircraft going inside, the new hangar is superb! A great building... More

Plenty of information on display about the airport with a great chance to get up close to some very interesting, historic aircraft. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very approachable. The tour of the Shackleton is amazing as you get taken round by someone who actually flew in one during the Cold War.

Really enjoyed our visit, highlight has to be being guided around the Shackleton by an ex Sqn Ldr who flew the type. Nice collection, laid out well and very accessible.

The museum was well set out, with plenty of room to view the aircraft. We as a family are vert interested in aviation, so it was an added bonus to be able to sit and watch the aircraft taking off, and tables there for us to have a picnic. Well worth a visit.

Having been to a few aircraft museums I would have no hesitation recommending this well presented and informative museum. Travelling from the Surrey Hills area it took a little finding, but once in Charlwood is easy to locate. With ample car parking the museum is a bargain at £5 per adult and £2.50 per child to enter. The museum has... More

Visited here today. Just a donation of £5 per adult and under 14 years free. Lots of interesting planes, engines and memorabilia to see. Nicely laid out and informative staff. Well worth a visit as my husband has never been and he has loved everything about airlines and planes for all his life.

My husband spotted an advertisement in the local paper for the Museum so we headed up there straight away with friends who were visiting for the weekend. The collection is very well displayed, mainly inside a lovely new hanger plus about 3 aircraft outside. The layout is very good, the accompanying information very interesting and a fabulous team of people... More

Wonderful museum with very friendly volunteers. Well worth a visit as the tour of the Shackleton was worth the entry fee alone. Make sure you take the walk to the see then end of gatwick runway, beautiful spot to have picnic and watch aircraft take off.

Although this isn't the biggest museum in the world, it was certainly extremely interesting for adults. Unfortunately, l went with five children (ages 6 - 13) who were interested for about 30 min, but then needed further stimulation. We left after about an hour (including a walk through the gorgeous countryside to the end of Gatwick runway), but I will... More
