Great for a bike ride, with a pub half way if you're thirsty!

Had a number of good family bike rides along this trail, it's across farmland and fairly flat so not one to stun you with it's beauty but it's a good distance and has a lovely pub... read more

Had a number of good family bike rides along this trail, it's across farmland and fairly flat so not one to stun you with it's beauty but it's a good distance and has a lovely pub in Towersey for a stop and a meal.

Went cycling from Thame to Princes Risborough on a lovely sunny October afternoon. Admired the scenic countryside and savoured a few luscious blackberries on the way. Good cycling path for all abilities and especially suitable for children of all ages. Highly recommended.

A pleasant walk can be had on the trail, the length of which you can decide for yourself, lots of places to come off the trail, interesting snippets to read on the way.

This is the route of an old railway line. It is well made up for walking. My grandchildren cycle it quite often. Choose your access and egress points with the aid of maps and convenient hostelries can be found. E.g. Towersey.

Walked several times whilst working in Thame. Lovely views and nice to walk along. Also quite free of litter which is good to see.

The big advantage of the Phoenix trail is that it really doesn't interact very much with traffic. From end to end you will cross only one "proper" road (with a pelican crossing) plus two minor roads and a couple of what I would call farm tracks. Otherwise, it's 6 miles of basically flat or very lightly sloped trail. The Thame... More

its a decent long walk, and usually flat for the less abled. but as your not always near people, some dog walkers just let there precious pooches leave deposits on the path. so its not just about a lovely walk, its avoid poo. also the council rarely tend to keep overgrowth back etc.

best to park at DAF car park in Thame or nearby and cycle towards Princes Risborough as mostly downhill that direction also can park half way at or near level crossing outside Longwick on straight bit of road towards Chinnor o r near Towersey and call into the Pub for lunch safe for children as no traffic

Lovely scenic bike path along an old railway line, very straight and mostly flat. Safe, and great for kids!

We had a great time cycling along the Phoenix Trail, it was very convenient using bikes from nearby Chilterns Cycle Hire. My son had a great time on the electric bike.
