Lovely walk. Beautiful scenery. Great for dog walkers. Cafe’s at Berwick end which appear always busy so must be good but we have never tried.

This is the railway viaduct across the Tweed built by Robert Stephenson and still taking trains today. You can view it from the riverside walk. Beautiful structure

When you look at this structure and think about the time it was built it is truly amazing that it is still being used in 2022. I realise that everything the Stephenson family designed and built was over engineered but this structure is in a class of its own. The view looking up from the river walk makes you realise the thought that went into the design of this bridge. The North East should be proud that it was designed by someone from the region when railways were king in terms of transporting goods and people around the country relatively quickly.

What a truly beautiful piece of architecture, I love it & driving my friends around they were suitably impressed too, such a lovely backdrop to the area!

The bridge really does look amazing. Great architecture and looks awesome when a train passes over it, You can get a great view from one of the other bridges over the river. You can also stand underneath it if you go to Riverside Road. Park up and walk right underneath it.

We viewed this fine bridge from the town walls and Castle Vale Park and were mightily impressed. A Grade I listed railway viaduct, it appears to march triumphantly over the river. The statistics, which can be found on various websites, provide an informative and fascinating insight into the design and construction.

Stunning Victorian railway bridge designed by Robert Stephenson crossing the River Tweed. I have passed over it many times going South on the train but its even more impressive when you see its scale close up,

The bridge itself is currently undergoing refurbishment works so is unfortunately closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic. It is still however a stunning bridge.

We visited Berwick on Tweed and took in the stunning view of the border bridge from the Ramparts. Recommend a visit while you are in the area.
