We may be the smallest museum in Northumberland but most visitors stay at least an hour and say they'll need to come back to see more! Run by volunteers who delight in the village's heritage and history, there are photographs, posters, artefacts, interactive screen, listening posts and much, much more. Open every day except Christmas Day, 10-4. Ample free parking nearby. Best of all free admission! A history of ordinary folk with extraordinary stories.

This small museum is well worth a visit. It is very interesting and well laid out. If visiting with children, it has an activity sheet and computer to learn about the village.

We only went in because it was raining. I wasn't expecting much, since Belford isn't exactly an exciting place, and the museum is one room. But it's actually really well done, with lots of interesting information squeezed into the space. Belford comes across as a...More

Belford wasn't always the quiet, small town it is now and this museum shows that very well. The research that has been done is excellent and well displayed. It's good to see it supported by local people who have donated items and been interviewed for...More

A great local history museum, well set out with easy to understand info, properly described exhibits, and inter-active resources. I particularly liked the story of the abduction and suicide at the Blue Bell Hotel, the photos of the marching suffragists, and the model of the...More
