Stayed over a Sunday night and was surprised how many people were there. We had a lovely room and bathroom which were spotless. The bed was so comfortable. The swimming pool and steam room excellent and while there are communal changing facilities there are gowns and slippers in the rooms. We had a fabulous dinner and the wine list is... More

The hotel has been beautifully restored and we loved the plaque commemorating the local craftsmen involved. Of course any hotel is only a building; it is the people involved in the delivery of service who really make it and Doxford is exceptional in that regard. Without exception in our experience all staff are very friendly, helpful and cheerful - no... More

My husband and I recently enjoyed a lovely, relaxing night stay at Doxford Hall. Stunning from arrival, and a friendly warm welcome awaited us. For such an old building, steeped in history it was immaculately clean throughout. We used the spa facilities during the day which were clean and not over crowded. Dinner in the main restaurant was delicious with... More

On entering the reception hall at this tastefully decorated hotel we were greeted by friendly and courteous staff. We had booked an overnight stay which included dinner and breakfast. Our room was very welcoming on a cold miserable February day, the room was very spacious and beautifully furnished, our room was on the ground floor which led to the spa,... More

Stayed for two nights B&B + dinner. The restaurant was comfortable but the food offer variable. Our mains were OK but nothing to shout about while the starters, including the signature offering, we found under flavoured. Traditional English breakfast, with local produce included sausages that were dry, possibly from standing and bacon with the fat still white and definitely not... More

We have just returned from a 3 day break at Doxford Hall and highly recommend this hotel. In a great location with plenty of beach walks in the area, the hotel offered all we needed for the perfect winter break. The hotel is tastefully decorated and has the air of a rambling stately home. Our room was perfect, as I... More

Went with a large party of family and friends for afternoon tea on a Sunday for a special occassion. Tea was wonderful and because there were so many of us we were given one of the small function rooms. Staff were very friendly, the location and facilities great. There seemed to be a lot of others patrons there for lunch,... More

We used the Spa facilities whilst staying st the Hotel. Unfortunately the steam room was 'Out of order'. However the aspect which was most bizarrely were the changing facilities. A single communal area with lockers, but with only 2 small cubicles in which to change. For a hotel with 31 rooms not including the non resident paying guests - it... More
