We spent almost a whole day here, from about 11.00am to 4.30pm. Extremely interesting around the house and Church. There are very good local guides at each point of interest around that are both informative and pleasant to talk to. The Gardens are beautifully maintained and there are walks beyond the garden to the lake. My wife and I have... More

A lovely house which is very much a home as it is not imposing. The gardens are being brought back to how it might have been. Small restaurant/tea room so choose your time for refreshment. Top marks to the volunteers.

The manor house at Canons Ashby is, by the standards of stately piles in general, on a pretty modest scale. However, it is the very human, liveable proportions of the place that is half its charm. It somehow makes it easier to conjure the idea of the house as a dwelling place in your mind. Set in the understated beauty... More

Kids of 7 and 10 only have so much attention span and patience. This place provides enough content and interaction to keep them happy until lunch time. Very nice, well informed and helpful staff. Beautiful and interesting house and gardens, well worth a visit.

We visited Canons Ashby with mother in law, aunt & sister & brother in law. The car park was full but volunteers were super helpful at locating a space as cars were leaving. We had lunch in the tea rooms which was a little slow but they were rather busy. Sandwiches and jacket potatoes were tasty. £10.13 house and gardens... More

We only experienced the shop, parkland and gardens today but have already planned our next visit to see the house, and to enjoy the tea shop. The site is well sign posted, car parking is ample and free. The National Trust website and app offer detailed information about the site to plan for your visit. The gardens were beautiful and... Gardens are good, not the largest and not suitable for wheelchairs - it's all on a little slope so there are steps. Great view to a far distant horizon. The cafe is attemtping to squeeze every penny from you. Even after pointing out that the coffee in the cafetiere shouldn't be translucent the replaced cafetiere was equally miserly and undrinkable.... More

Although small it is packed with interest. The formal gardens and vegetable areas are exceptionally well looked after. A very interesting house to look around, all the rooms are very different. The volunteer guides are well informed and enjoy telling you about the house. Good tea room and nice to sit outside in an enclosed area as it was a... More

We visited today and although the house was closed the Church and the grounds were open and we enjoyed the gardens very much. The tea room with both indoor and outdoor seating offered a good selections of food and so we stayed for lunch. The staff were all very helpful.
