This is a nice beach however it is not my preferred sand. Improves in the summer when the massive increase in visitor numbers sees more facilities open.

We went there for a morning walk and I guess there was a 'running by the beach' event during the time of our visit. Lots of colourful huts by the beach and I don't really know whether they are to be rented out or what....More

Very family friendly, paved, so easy to walk along the coastline beside the beach, lovely on a sunny day to wander along.

If you are staying in Whitstable, take a walk out of town to Tankerton and watch the kite surfers, weave in and out of the beach huts and eat oysters in the harbour.

We spent some time here, and enjoyed the clean pebbly beach. It was pretty quiet, and the kids enjoyed it. Lots of interesting beach huts too!

We attended a wedding at the Beacon House situated on the Tankerton seafront. The house was really charming and was a brilliant venue for a wedding. The beach itself is stony but is dog-friendly and was ideal for us since there were 6 dogs present.

Super chilled atmosphere, very family-friendly, beaches quiet (probably because they are sloped and shingle/seashell), you look out across the north kent coast, with the Isle of Sheppey, Whitstable and Herne Bay all visible.
