Such a great little place for slow walk around looking at the little shops that offer a wide selection of goods. Each shop is a take on an old fisherman's hut harking back to the older days of when I am sure the little harbour was really busy. The seafood stalls offer various types of seafood from a bowl of... Chips very dry. Fish tasty and plump. Generous servings and reasonably priced. All freshly cooked to order so bit of a wait but worth it

We visited on a lovely sunny Sunday and the place was buzzing. Lots of quirky little shops and pop-up shops in a working harbour. Nice walk along the seafront with good restaurants and street food, lots of variety but, of course, the oysters are what the place is famous for and you will not be disappointed.

Real working habour, got a taste for the past. Only a small harbour but very interesting and hasn't changed in years. There was indoor fish market which was unfortunately closed when we were there where you can buy good quality reasonable priced fish. If you're in Whitstable it's definitely worth a visit.

A perfect place to sit outside at the harbour cafe and have lunch or just beverages and watch the bustle of the working harbour. Or, amble round the huts selling varius individual craft, paintings, food, handmade clothes, wood burners, jewellery etc. Or, to buy fresh fish from the fish market or individual fisherman's huts. Or, to eat at the fabulous... More

This is a working harbour. You will see fishing boats. There are lots or independent artists and Croats people selling their products from a group of beach huts situated on the harbour area. You can also find places to eat and drink.

Once a full working fishing and oyster centre now diluted to include souvenir bays on the old quay. Some up - market outlets in converted fisherman's huts and outbuildings. Interesting but a real miss mash of tat and trend. All a bit fake, although fascinating to stroll around

Waliked round the harbour area a number of times. It improves every time I visit. It is full of life and colourful fishing boats. A number of chalet style shops selling arts and crafts etc. Are worth investigating. Snack bars and good fish restaurants and a fish market are there. Extending a walk along the seafront is definitely worthwhile. I... More

Only an hour and a half away from London but when you arrive here you think of Devon or Cornwall although the beaches are not of sand, fishing boats in the harbour and quirky market stalls every weekend plus great fish restaurants, worth a visit.
