Have been a few times but this time the experience was awful. Waited over 40 minutes for two bowls of tepid soups and slices of bread. Should have been served with a warm baguette, no explanation of why the sliced loaf bread was served. All tables were messy with crockery etc and customers were clearing thier own tables. A distinct... More

We sat in the gardens with our books and ordered some cool beverages to drink outside. We were later considering going inside to the Orangery Restaurant part of the Castle and ordered a Afternoon Tea for two with one Mocha and one Latte. The coffee wasn't decently priced but tasted great but arrived warmish not hot, the Afternoon Tea itself... More

Possibly in all my 61 years I have been to some awful events, but I am confident this was the WORST The outdoor stalls were few and far between selling mainly tat. To go indoors you had to queue and eventually get in. The building is UNSAFE for the volume of visitors. The staircases were dangerously over crowded the rooms... More

Attended a wedding last weekend at the Castle. It is a lovely places with picturesque grounds and a very well preserved house built to resemble a Castle. The wedding room was a fantastic spectacle, with a Jacobean feel, panelled walls and a magnificent fireplace as centrepiece. Most guests marvelled at the wonderful rooms, staircases and grounds. A great location making... More

The castle has lovely gardens and a sweet little cafe inside the front of the castle. Also if you have small children, there is a good park with lots to explore and enjoy. For example, there are water pumps, a wooden sand pit, a net swing, a round-about which you can push from the inside to save your energy, two... More

Lovely grounds and garden which has delightful ship centred toddlers playground and part shady summer terrace with view over Whitstable. Garden room inside is fresh and light the back rooms better for autumn and winter ,cosy but dark. Standard choice of snacks and cakes, .lunches tend to be quiche type bur very well done, the teas are extravagantly calorie full.... More

Can't say too much as we didn't/couldn't go inside....the gardens are lovely but as it was October I am guessing we missed its glory! It is a small castle! - don't be planning your day around visiting it! There is lawn bowls there that in theory the public can play but wasn't open when we were there (Sunday & late... More

Visited Whitstable Castle this October and enjoyed a coffee and cake in this delightful tearoom. Staff were very pleasant and after our refreshments allowed us to wonder round the castle. Most of the rooms are used for private functions now. The gardens were very pleasant to wonder round.
