Nice local museum in Deal,, well worth a visit. This is a small establishment with people with good local knowledge who can give you facts about deal and the local area.

We spent a fascinating couple of hours here. It is tucked down a side street behind the Town Hall so is easily missed but it is definitely worth seeking out. It specializes in the maritime and local history of Deal and the surrounding area and the children particularly enjoyed the first world war trench and tales of the Deal soldiers... More

Deal Maritime Museum is tucked away up a street off the main road but it is well worth seeking out. Quite a little gem bursting with items and memorabilia of interest covering a range of subjects over two floors. The layout may not be best suited for the disabled and I am not sure if it was wheelchair friendly (worth... More

A brilliant museum and a must for anyone interested in the rich history of Deal. My son and I were given a warm welcome by a lovely lady who was manning the desk. The museum, on two floors, is full of interesting objects all clearly labelled and has two audio visual presentations in separate buildings. The creation, maintenance and running... More

As a child, the thought of a visit to a "local history museum" would have bored me silly. Here, however, the rich and vibrant exhibits bring the maritime history of Deal (historically the world's most prolific smuggling port) to exciting life. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable; the exhibits interesting and we'll presented; and there's plenty to keep the kids... More

The sailing exhibits are good - ship models and real examples of lifeboats. Some local history exhibits as well. An interesting place to spend an hour or maybe a couple of hours max.

The artefacts have been put into collections covering the various activities Deal has been renowned for - e.g. The Royal Marines, Smuggling, maritime, WW2 with the small boats helping D Day, A collection depicting the shops of Deal through the ages and currently a WW1 collection with a trench. Each collection helps to paint a picture of Deal through the... More

A volunteer run local museum containing some interesting objects not terribly well laid out. If they could bring the displays up to the level of the Dunkirk and WW1 which are good,it would be a better experience

Well worth a visit. A valuable resource in the town of Deal with much information and artefacts relating to Deal's sea-faring history. There are sections describing the impact of WW1 and WW2 on the town of Deal as well as the important contributions local sailors made to these wars. Highly recommend.

Tucked down a pretty street of Georgian townhouses, the Deal Maritime museum is a homely mix of civil and military recollections. Contemporary local interest exhibitions are staged amongst the regular exhibits, some in small buildings in a pretty garden.
