Queenswood has everything for a family day out; lovely walks lots are on even surfaces and well maintained so good for kids bikes or pushchairs. Lovely gardens with interesting and huge collection of different trees in the Arboretum. Great for dogs too. Then there's a large playground for the kids, a tea room and ice-cream/coffee stand. Not to mention essential... More

The car park costs £3, cheap if a family go for a day, pricey for a dog walk! The loos are clean, but in the ladies one buggy makes all cubicles and basins unreachable, so don't wait 'til desperate. The shop shuts on a Monday which can lead to disappointed children. There is an excellent playground, loads of paths to... More

We've been in Herefordshire for 16 years and had never been to Queens wood until now. How we've missed out! It is a wonderful walk through the arboretum and then down into ancient woodland. There are nice avenues to walk and dedicated areas such as the viewpoint, summer garden and autumn garden filled with colour. The whole walk, on a... More

This visit was with my Octogenarian parents Aunt and Uncle. The cafe was unfortunately packed out due to a "sustainability" event but we were able to find a disabled parking space and the walk through the woods was pleasant as usual. It was a nice clear day so the panorama from the viewpoint was lovely and various Herefordshire landmarks could... More

We have visited this before and found it a good way to while away a few hours and let the kids burn off some energy. This time there was a Gruffalo Trail. We thought our kids were too old to enjoy this, 9 and 6, but actually they loved it and were delighted every time they found a character from... More

Just out side Leominster is this love wood. You park your car, pay a small fee, get your walking boots on and go off exploring the woods. There are things for all age groups to do, you can just go off and walk, find the view point and then go back via the red woods, like I do, or you... More

What a setting and an excellent cafe too! On a lovely hot Sunday afternoon, the car park was full at 1:30pm on our arrival. A car pulled out I pulled in. Parking ticket £1 up to an hour £3 all day. Starting with the cafe - we called to find a welcoming cafe with a wide ranging menu and accommodating... More

My fiancé & I stopped here to break up a journey. It's a fantastic picnic spot, with a lovely restaurant. You can also get take-out coffee and snacks. There are some great walks & also toilets and a gift shop. We found the parking difficult here, as there was an event on at the time of our visit, but we... More

I visited the woods on Saturday afternoon to see the Gruffalo trail. I rushed to purchase a parking ticket as my young son desperately needed the toilet for the last 15 minutes of our journey. I rushed off and returned to the car over an hour later to discover a parking ticket. Our ticket was either placed the wrong way... More

A great place to walk the dog & for all the family , but a lot quieter now parking charges have been brought in @ £1 for 1 hour & £3 all day . Annual permits are £60 at present . These charges have put a lot of regular visitors off , despite the reasonably priced Excellent Cafe as the... More
