We visited the Old Town on a Saturday afternoon and saw a sandwich board advertising the Sunday Market which is only once a month. As we were staying nearby we decided to return the next day. However the board gave no times.
We found the Gadebridge Lane free car park which was not far away. The market was in the square next to the town hall and the grounds of the pretty Norman church, St Mary’s. However we were a bit too early as it did not start properly until 11am. It was mainly artisan goods; arts, crafts, jewellery, pottery, artisan bakers, beer etc. We bought a few bits & bobs for Christmas gifts (never too early!) and some lunch for later.
When we left, not all the stalls were set up. It really would have been handy to have the time of the market advertised.
It was a very nice setting and well worth the visit.

I have now attended 3 of these markets and each time it has got better and better. The choice of stalls is amazing as is the quality. My purchases have included a dress, Olive bread, handmade bath products, fudge, carrot cake, a couple of unusual necklaces and some plants.
The next market on Sunday 1st December is supposed to be even better with varied entertainment including Santa himself. ❤️

I really enjoyed my visit on Sunday, there was a great selection of stalls, plenty of cakes, bakes, bread and pastries, jewelry, clothing, art, vintage goods, recycled furniture, cards, gifts, candles etc. The fudge and sweet stall was great. The location was lovely too, situated around the centre of the Old Town High Street (worth a visit even on non-market days!).
Parking was easy, there's huge car park (£1.60 for the whole day or free parking right on the High St on Sundays) and Gadebridge Park is just a few steps away. The market took place inside St Mary's Church as well as on the High St next to the Old Town Hall.
I particularly liked the hot food stalls and music in St Mary's Square, it gave the event a real festival vibe!
I'll definitely return as it takes place on the first Sunday of every month (except Jan and Feb).
