In the heart of the glorious New Forest, Beaulieu is one of the South's top visitor attractions. Here you will find the National Motor Museum, home to over 250 vehicles telling the history of motoring. You can also visit Palace House and Gardens, home of the Montagu family since 1538, the remains of Beaulieu Abbey and World of Top Gear where you can see some of the vehicles from Jeremy, James and Richard's most ambitious challenges. Ride on the high level Monorail or climb aboard the replica 1912 open top London bus for a fun way to see Beaulieu's sights.

    Something for everyone
So much to do and see despite the weather bring hit and miss. We did get stuck on the monorail for 30 mins whilst it broke down between stations which was a bit chilly! A complementary coffee would have Bern a nice gesture. The mix of classic cars and bikes, the house, gardens was really interesting. The cafe feels very dated now both in looks and menu choices - that's not a complaint but an observation.

    Great rainy day activity
Came here as was a rainy day activity, enjoyed exploring the motor museum- the kids enjoyed the dress up ops, Easter trail & interactive bits. Top gear section was interesting. Mono rail was just doing a loop but nice to go on. Kids loved little Beaulieu- the fantastic playground & also searching for “rabbits” around the house. Bit pricey but can spend a whole day here & the cafe was poor for food selection & service.

    A brilliant day out!
A brilliant day out as the site offers so much more than the exceptional motor museum. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and Abbey, particularly seeing the amazing tapestries created by the mother of the current Lord Montagu, the SOE Exhibition, the colourful gardens and the very pleasant location. It is an added bonus that you can revisit the site within a given time period with free admittance.

    Great day out
Visited on a warm Bank Holiday Monday. Although it was busy, it did not feel crowded. Once you understood the system, the restaurant served us good quality food quickly. There were plenty of tables indoors and outside. This is in contrast with the National Trust, for whom lunchtime always comes as a surprise. The museum itself is well stocked with interesting vehicles. The house is a museum of the Montague family, rather itself being an architectural gem or full of treasure. However it is worth walking down to it. The gardens are beautiful and the location on the Beaulieu River is great. Cute village nearby, and you get a discount on the wonderful Bucklers Hard down the road. A great day out. Suggest that you miss out the M3, traffic and go via Salisbury.
Thank you very much for your review, we are delighted you had an enjoyable recent visit. There are lots of unique features of the Beaulieu attraction, and it is great to hear you were able to experience and enjoy many of them. We hope to welcome you back in the near future.

    A brilliant day out !!
A fabulous setting for an amazing collection of vehicles. The gardens and artwork are stunning and the house and grounds are an amazing place to spend a day. The monorail and vintage bus rides add to an experience, well facilitated for all. Ample parking and gift shop every motor enthusiast will find interesting. A 100% recommended attraction.
Thank you very much for your comments, we are delighted to hear you had an enjoyable visit and that you would recommend us. We hope to see you again in the near future.

Interesting day out for all ages
Great day out for all ages! Lots of different motor vehicles to see, the highlight for me was chitty chitty bang bang! A monorail and bus to show you around the whole park. Top gear area with cars seen in the show. Lots of history in the house and abbey. The entire place is filled with statues and art. Big car park which is free of charge and lots of toilets around which is ideal. There’s also a play park for younger children to let off steam.

    Good day out
We had a good few hours at Motor museum. The display of vehicles was what we came to see. Upon entering the building you are unsure which direction to go, there was the occasional arrow on the floor but really could be better signed as we constantly were missing sections.

    Family Fun
Fantastic day out with a variety of activities, The unexpected bonus was the children's play park , which was without doubt one of the best i've seen . My two year old grandson loved it ( so did his 33 yr old auntie ) . Take a picnic and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and embrace the history !

A great day out with really good wheelchair access
Its been more than 20 years since my last visit. As a full-time wheelchair user, I was very impressed with the overall access to all areas and I found the staff very knowledgeable and helpful. There are just a couple of points that need addressing - the grabs rails in the accessible toilets are rusty and need replacing and you need to provide an accessible route to the kitchen of Palace House as the gravel is extremely difficult even with a carer. I found the DVD very informative and probably learnt more than my non-disabled companions as a result!

    Good Value
We bought our tickets in advance. The ticket prices included the car exhibits, parking, the monorail, the bus, gardens and abbey. There is a cafe on site too. We did not know what to expect on the cars, but there was plenty to see without it becoming a chore. There was plenty of information available on each exhibit too.

This is an excellent all weather family attraction. I went with my daughter and her eldest child.
The Palace house was impressive and the staff were very friendly and engaging in their period costumes.
The special bus was great fun and the staff very kind and helpful.
The highlight for me was the car display in the main arena at 2pm…

Only down side was the cost of our tickets and the fact that there was only £1 off for OAP’s like me!

We visited on a rainy day and with umbrellas were able to explore the whole site. Enjoyed the vintage bus rides and monorail. Took around 4 hours might have spent longer if it hadn't been raining. Cafe a bit of a let down no specialist coffees and expensive and not many places to picnic on site

I struggled with the rating for Beaulieu as on one hand it is as advertised but on the other it's missing something and there is just something not quite right for what is considered to be such a great attraction.

Let's start with the main reason to go to Beaulieu, the cars. An absolutely fabulous display in the main museum dating from the early 1900's right up to an amazing modern Rolls Royce with everything in between. Some very unique vehicles with lots of character. Although I would say they are trying to cram in way too many with a full view around alot of the vehicles impossible.
As a huge Top gear fan it was great to see some of the vehicles used on the show. Other reviews mentioned the poor quality of the cars, obviously have no idea what some of these vehicles went through on their journeys! That being said, I would have thought these vehicles are a bit more worthy of the giant gazebo they are stored in?
The star car exhibit took all of 2 minutes with only 6 or 7 vehicles in there. There were more child amusement machines than actual display vehicles. I came with my 6 and 7 year old children and felt these toys were just an unnecessary distraction.

On the subject of young children, the Little Beaulieu playground is amazing and a great place for the kids!!

The monorail for me is not a winner but has long been a part of Beaulieu. I can only imagine how much it costs to run and maintain this but does not bring anything to the overall experience. It passes through the main museum (not providing the greatest view) and then around the gardens.
The cafe was pretty good, a reasonable selection of food items with minimal wait times.
Back to my title, "value for money". £62 for 1 adult and 2 children. There are other attractions in the South that offer a lot more for a lot less money. The business model for Beaulieu has not really changed in the last 20 years and it feels like the owners/management are resisting the need to change with the times and develop the business and make it a full day attraction as opposed to the few hours you can get round in. Beaulieu could be so much more than what is which is really disappointing. I used the gift aid option when booking but would I return even for free, highly unlikely and this is how I rate attractions. Could I go around again and still enjoy it, I can't say I would at Beaulieu.
What has really put me off returning though was the customer service experience or lack there of. From entry to exit, every team member we interacted with really seemed like they hated their job and did not want to be there. Zero enthusiasm, zero effort to interact with guests, zero effort when asked questions. The lady on entering seemed shocked even slightly offended that I had brought children along? A gentleman in the museum felt the need to scream out "do not touch the cars" even though my child was a good 2 metres away and was merely pointing out something she had seen. Great customer service is the key to any attraction and this is unfortunately non existent during our visit
Beaulieu, you are good but could be so much better than what you are! Please develop and deliver that real WOW factor people are looking for from an attraction!

We had the best time here. So much to see and do we didn’t get to do it all so are planning to come back.
Fabulous 1921 open top bus that takes you around and a monorail. Beautiful clean site with so much information.
A top gear section with cars used on the programme and a display of cars used in movies.
The museum itself was extremely informative and very clean. Lovely selection of cars and was fascinated to see an old 51 bus with its destination being where we had travelled from (2hours away) the kids loved that.
We go5 to see a parade outside of cars including* Chitty Chitty bang bang!
On,y downside for us was the extortionate prices for food and drink. Next time we will take a picnic.

A fantastic day out, though possibly need another day to see everything. We've been several times but it was our car mad grandson's 1st time. You need to get there early then you can go on the monorail without a big queue and try out the remote control cars easily. Inside the museum it's amazing and the grandson didn't know where to look first! Took him to the children's play area and he had a good energetic run around. Watched the parade of cars and he loved Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the best. We'll have to take him again in the summer holidays to see the other attractions.

It was a fantastic day. I took my husband and step daughter yesterday. It was my husband’s birthday. It had been years since we’d last gone. Really enjoyed the museum, monorail, Top Gear features and more. Couldn’t finish everything but at least there’s things to do next visit. The cavalcade was amazing and the presenter was fabulous.

We met friends at the Motot Museum and had a great day. Super playground for the children, great bus ride, fun monorail, plenty to do, lots of cars. However, it looked as I'd there has been no investment in the place for many years. The motor museum is the same as in the 1990s, the information boards in the Palace House the same age, so the museum feel is very outdated. It really needs a revamp.

Our children didn't seem to notice it was tired so they loved it. The adults definitely did notice!
