The New Forest is so well managed and it is a privilege to be able to get so close to the wildlife. We encountered Highland Cattle, Ponies, Donkeys, water fowl, but missed the pigs. The donkeys are quite amusing in the way they go through the town eating the vegetation like a little gang.

We had two lovely walks in the forest. The paths are mostly easy to follow but there are lots of them so a walking guide or use of an online map on your mobile is advised. We saw quite a few ponies as well and there are some great views. I look forward to coming back.

Went for a walk in one of the many areas and can park up in any one of the parking areas fitted around the forest area. Beautiful vibe

We only had a day to get round the new forest,so we followed the open bus tour guide route(pick up the local tourist guide-this has it in) By doing this we saw everything we needed to see. We went through thick forest and saw all the ponies then popped out by the sea! Great day if you have people with... More

I recently stayed in Lyndhurst for work and cycled most days through the forest with my partner. The sunrise and the scenery is spectacular.

A living breathing woodland environment, easily accessible for ever audience, walkers, cyclists, horse riders and mobility vehicles The road speeds are kept down to minimise the risk to the indigenous wildlife & free moving animals (donkeys, cattle, horses, deer). It makes for a relaxed safer environment. The lack of development dies however mean Lyndhurst with its central location and one... More
