We enjoyed a wonderful sunny day with our daughter and grand daughter, starting at Alresford station then carrying on to Ropley and ending in Alton. A birthday gift this Alresford - Alton and return was amazing. I have experienced similar before but a classic locomotive and this friendly informative footplate crew made it very special. The line passes through outstanding countryside and the gradients are designed to challenge the crew,Consequently the journey provides ample opportunities to wallow in the noises the locomotive provides Stations were... Parked for free at Ropley, where most of the Thomas activities are. Very pleasant and helpful chaps on the parking! Arrived for half nine as I thought it would be busy, but not at all, all day. Lovely lady on entry to station. Tickets aren't cheap, but goes back into railway. Thomas seems to go up the line for five... More

Yesterday my wife and grandchildren visited the railway which was hosting a Thomas event. It was wonderful. First of all the staff (mainly volunteers I would imagine) were extremely helpful and friendly - their patience and enthusiasm were boundless. For little ones there were: rides behind Thomas; rides in a guard's van; a miniature railway; story telling; bouncy castle slide... More

I took 2 year old and 5 year old to the Thomas Experience on Tuesday 18 April. Very happy children. Facilities were great. Parking at Ropley was very efficient and easy. Staff very helpful and friendly and interacted with the children. Rusty's magic show was loads of fun, big blow up slide a treat, the trains were a big hit.... More

I visited at the April Thomas the Train event. Both steam and diesel trains were running. At first Thomas was out of operation but eventually appeared in full colour. Other characters were present and posed with young enthusiasts. There were lots of interesting activities for youngsters. One elderly woman commented on the good old days- noting the pleasing smell. I... More

This is a perfect day out for a 4 year old lover of Thomas the Tank Engine and all things trains. We spent the whole day here going up and down the line on all the trains and enjoying all the free entertainment as well. The Thomas themed entertainer was funny and had everyone involved. I would highly recommend it.

We have just had a wonderful day at 'a day with thomas' on the watercress line. My two year old loves Thomas so that is why we went but I expected us to get tired a bored after a few shuttles back and forward. I was wrong. We spent the whole day on the railway. Most of the day we... More
