Beautiful old gallery (claiming to be the oldest in the world). Set within the grounds of Salford university. Limited parking outside the gallery, otherwise best accessed by public transport either by bus or train. Good selection of local artists.

This is a great place to visit for a morning or afternoon. The museum incorporates a Victorian cobbled street carefully laid out to be as authentic as possible. Children would find this fascinating and educational and I believe that visits can incorporate dressing up in...More

What a brilliant place for kids and all ages, a real look into the past Salford. Easy access public transport, taxi etc and right next to Peel Park

An interesting art collection here, many RA artists, including Lowry, Hockney and Frink. Also an atmospheric Victorian street containing shops and genuine artefacts. It was free entry but £2.50 parking. Good shop and well informed staff.More
