Being the longest pier, everybody should visit at least once in their lifetime. The return train ride makes it an easy trip to the end of the pier. It gives a fascinating view of Southend and neighdouring towns. Unfortunately Jamie Oliver was filming at the...More

Southend has had a very good face lift lots of new things for the children to do but still a fun place and the parking after 6 is free so that’s a good bonus

Visited the pier to enjoy a walk and take a few pictures. Cost was £2.00 to walk 1.33 miles along the pier both ways, but would have been more to use the train. The pier is undergoing some renovation along its length so a couple...More

You can get a train there and back but we chose to walk to the pier - 1.33 miles, not bad and it took us about 20 minutes. It’s a lovely walk - very picturesque. There’s not much to do once you get there. Had...More

I live in Southend as a student. The pier is world famous so it’s a must. I was expecting a lot when I first went (amusement arcades, games, shops) but in reality it’s a lot more calm. There’s a cafe, a small mini golf course...More

We took the train to the end of the pier. Here is a good cafe/restaurant mini golf and good views over the estuary. We decided to walk back which was good but it is a long way. Enjoyed the experience we got senior concessions which...More

Had a wonderful time with the family. A lovely casual walk to the end with a train trip back. Got to see Jamie n Jimmy's little cafe which was highlight. Definitely worth a visit.

We specifically came to Southend for the pier and train with our two young boys after watching Jamie and Jimmy's. Perhaps £13 for two adults / two children for a return train ride to the end is a bit expensive for regular visitors but as...More
