Established on the current Clacton site in 1899, and run independently by the West Cliff Trust, the West Cliff is the only surviving purpose-built theatre in Clacton, and plays host to professional touring shows and many local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, dance schools, and other youth groups.

Its compact auditorium with just under 600 seats, a unique atmosphere and knowledgeable and friendly staff make it Clacton's theatre of choice for artistes and audiences alike.

The Stage Door Bar is open both prior to and during the interval for each show, and provides pre-booked meals for selected shows. The lounge may be hired for private functions with or without bar and catering services.

This is a fantastic theatre with a good range of entertainment from comedy, drama and musical, the seating is OK, with a nice little bar in the interval. Book early for Christmas pantomime, sold out very early

How on earth can this small theatre put on such talented shows of such very caliber. Yet the prices are not sky high.A small bar area for a drink before a show. But one world of warning for Disabled wheelchair users people struggle to deal with those in wheelchairs sadly the disabled toilet is used by women in shows as a... We were visiting on holiday and saw a 60s show was on. We turned up on the night and were able to get seats. The theatre isn't huge but has all of the facilities you need and the show was great fun. Would definately visit again if in the area.

Car parking on the street nearby, or in their car-park. The Searchers last hit was in 1966 and clientele reflected this - we were some of the youngest there (we're mid-50s), but the staff and venue were great. Good location, and £21 per ticket it wasn't too expensive. We'll come back some day.

I just love the traditional seaside theatre in Clacton. The staff are friendly. The theatre building is fascinating. I usually have a look at what shows are on as it is a treat to go. (There is parking next to the theatre.) This time I attended a concert starring The Searchers. They were excellent, as usual. Quote 'Last Saturday Tel... More

The summer show was brilliant, especially enjoyed the impressionist and the singer, but also good to have some glitz and glam back, looking forward to seeing next years show.
