I visited the Ashdown Forest as an enormous, life-long lover of Winnie-the-Pooh and A. A. Milne's stories. Was so wonderful to walk through places I only ever thought existed in our dreams and imaginations. Regardless of its heritage, Ashdown is an absolutely gorgeous, tranquil place...More

Drive past the sheep grazing in the forest. Plenty of car parks to use to walk from. The visitors centre in coleman’s hatch (RH18 5JP) is great and staff very knowledgeable and you can buy maps of the area. There is a ‘Pop up cafe’...More

We came on a Tuesday afternoon and there was few people there. You'll have the bridge to yourself for photos and playing pooh sticks. We climbed down into the water and fetched a bunch of sticks out to clear the waterway a bit. Was nice...More

You have no idea how many times we had to stop for a little house in a tree or playing pooh sticks by dropping sticks into a river from a bridge during my time here! Seriously though, I had no idea this place existed until...More

Maybe it was just the areas we visited - Old Lodge nature reserve and the area around the Information Barn at Wych Cross - but there was more heathland than forest. Amazing views just not what was expected. Paths are typical of heathland so uneven...More

You feel as if you are miles away from civilization. Walking on the forest offers spectacular view after spectacular view, even on a grey day. And of course, there's the Winnie the Pooh connection to make it even more magical. Parking areas well located but...More

Parked at Pooh parking about a 20-30min walk to Poohsticks bridge. Saw Owls tree, Eeyore’s wigwam, Piglets house on the way. The Pooh’s house after the bridge. Played Poohsticks, bring some twigs on the way. From Piglet parking we walked to the Enchanted Place, with...More

I love this place to walk and feel in a wilderness. It is easy to feel lost and immersed into this wild and ancient landscape. What a tradegey that our government cares so little for environment it is proposing thousands more new houses in the...More
