If one picture on a postcard could sum up an idyllic English Seaside destination it would have to be Southwold Pier. Decked out across the sea in the picturesque coastal town of Southwold, this pillared walkway has a magnetic attraction and...more

We had quick walk along to end of Pier with our two dogs on what was a very windy day. Certainly blew any cobwebs away!!! I love the sea when its choppy so standing at the end of the pier was great as it extends...More

The delightful and ridiculous amusement arcade is worth a visit. It’s bonkers, but very entertaining. The clock half-way along the pier should be seen on the hour or half hour. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. There’s a restaurant (very poor service), some shops,...More

If piers are you thing then this is your place. Good arcades etc.. nice views and an enjoyable ambience reminiscent of 1950’s Britain. Free parking on side roads. Tea rooms etc though over priced. Either ways not a bad place or spot.

We'd read that fish and chips here was exceptional and compared to most it probably is. Our local fish and chip restaurant in Long Eaton, The Cod's Scallops, despite being nowhere near the sea, knocks spots off it, AND has a (very) fresh fish counter,...More

Pretty much the normal seaside fare, not very inventive, and needs some cash spent on it. Nice walk, but little else to commend a visit

Dear 253tonyh, Thank you for your review. I was disappointed to read that you felt the Pier was tacky, as most of our feedback mentions that people find it really interesting with the different food offerings, 2 arcades and unique waterclock. Kind regards, Southwold Pier

It was a windy day with rough sea and high tide coming in. Little bit scary but a right think to do for Halloween isn't it? The PIER is really a long, long one and he goes directly into the sea. GREAT.

The children always ask to visit the pier when we are in Southwold. The under the pier show is always fun and the amusement arcade is low key and friendly.
