I visit the port once a month for business purposes and find the security very competent and a safe place to work.

With approximately 3,000 ships each year, including the largest container vessels afloat today visit this port. There is a viewing area close to the port complete with a café and a fort.

The size of the ships in the port of Felixstowe are MASSIVE. I was born in a sea port and have never seen them that size when in dock, yes have sailed past a few but oh my god they were massive.

Seeing the ships up close is great for everyone, especially little boys. The dock area now has a lovely cafe, seating and a tidy little shingle beach area. Good car park too.

The seamans service is verry prompt, you call them and they are coming verry fast. The seamans club is ok has almost everything and the internet is working nicely. The port is verry close to the city center you can walk by the water front to the center in 15 min.

The size of the operations at the Port of Felixstowe is truly awesome. It can be best viewed from the viewing point near Landguard. There is adequate parking there and a good place to get snacks or a substantial meal.A really eye opening experience watching the world largest container ships in action.
