The viewpoint is a favourite place of ours, to be so close to these giant ships is brilliant. It is a shame that the council is going to make it a pay and display car park.

We enjoy walking with dogs on remote beaches. They are hardly remote with a huge container port in the background but this made our walks here dramatically different. Watching the ships departing or arriving was intriguing.

Staying in Felixstowe we stopped off at Lanyard Point to watch the container ships come into the Port. Very impressive given the size of everything. Well worth stopping by to watch the world go by!

Sat in the cafe watching the ships being loaded, very awesome to see. Plus there is a foot ferry that leaves from there too.
