Lovely ride in det darknes with polar light in the sky

My daughter an I had a Lovely ride with Sissel and her dogs at Svalbard Husky. So quiet og peacefull after the crazy amount of fabules explosive energy when harnessing the dogs.

Svalbard Husky ride in summer is definitely not as attractive as in winter. Still, to see the whole procedure of selecting dogs at a kennel, transporting them to the starting point and then see them at work is an unforgettable experience. You're inside the action known so far only from the movies, which will be long remembered - no doubt.

Had a few hours to fill whilst in Longyearbyen so opted for a Husky trip in a buggy! What a great time we had, Thomas the guide was so knowledgeable and so very interesting. Meeting the dogs was fantastic too. The trip round Longyearbyen was great and the Hot chocolate a welcome drink.

When they say you will work with the dogs they do mean it. If you are looking to just be pulled around by a team of dogs, you might look elsewhere. Of course if you are looking for a memorable experience this would be it. Once at the Kennel, they determine your team, they show you how to harness the... More

We wanted to get a taste of what dogsledding is like, despite it being summer and no snow. After careful consideration we selected Svalbard Husky after recommendations from a guide and we were not disappointed. It was great fun and the dogs were friendly and just lovely. The dogs were the best part of it all and we also got... More

This trip was really well run. You get picked up from the hotel, taken to an office to put on protective clothing and shoes and then taken to the dog yard. I am always wary of trips involving animals as I hate to see them exploited but these were happy dogs with staff who clearly adored them. The dogs love... More

My girlfriend and I did this trip yesterday. It was an amazing experience. Lovely friendly dogs, great staff. If you're not a dog lover it may be quite intimidating as you are in very close proximity to the dogs. It may be worth noting that there was no toilet at the facility. Though this may be only temporary. For me... More

I was really affraid at the beginning, when driving the dogs, but, any problem handling 12 dogs !!!! For 2 people... More

Nice to be helpful with the dogs before and after the trip. The dogs are very social. You will be picked up from the hotel.

We went on a four hour trip with six friends in April 2016. The trip is overated and expensive for a one hour actual trip. The rest of the time is consumed by getting there and harnassing and feeding the dogs. The guides have no idea of customer service. The one guide shouted at my friend for getting of the... More
