We visited it around the end of 3rd week of October and we had some expectations to spot a lot of birds (Not quantity but variety) with our binoculars but were able to spot just 4-5 kinds most of them similar. We have found this place after searching in google.It was 1.5 hours from kanchipuram and went there in 1st week of September.To our shock,after travelling so much,we came to know that sanctury was closed and it will be open only in November for season. One can reach in public transport from chengalpet or an auto will charge 400 to 500INR.... More

I am a bird watcher. Really great to see these many birds together in a sanctuary. Painted storks are majorly found. Apart from that you may find black ibis, etc. Open during major part of the year. Closed post the summer as the water level will be low and you may not find many birds. The binoculars can be rented... More

This is a bird sanctuary which is extremely well maintained & boats of hosting almost all the birds of the world.

Must visiting place for a bird lover. Not a famous place for many, but a memoriable place for nature, bird and wildlife lovers. I have not heard positive about this place, but when i visited i was astonished to see many winged visitors, kingfisher, different types of stork. Very good place to visit for bird watchers, kids will definitely enjoy the place. Best time to visit is between 4 - 6 PM. Don't forget to take drinking water.
