Ancient but well maintained
Jan 2020
The temple, in spite of being ancient and heritage building, still stood unaffected with thorough maintenace work done regularly (it was going on even during my visit). The domework is something noticeable.

Ancient Temple on old mouth of Chilika
Aug 2017 • Friends
Nearly 20 kilometers from Puri and very close to town Brahmagiri, this spot is located where there was an opening of the sea into Chilika lake long ago. Now this mouth is blocked in natural process. But the sea is just across a few sand mounds. The place still gives a feel of a beach but very peaceful amid densely looking forest. The temple is located in center on a high platform. It is a Durga temple visited by large number of people everyday. Cashew trees are in abundance all around. One can visit nearby fishermen villages to get an experience of local life.

A scenic place...
Apr 2016 • Family
This is a great place for hangout with families & friends.
More specifically, this is a ideal place for picnics as it attracts people due to its surroundings (huge trees, water availability & nearby beach). Also, near the temple (around 1 km) beach is present

The strange fact about the temple is that, fish (huge fish generally of 20 ft long) is offered as food to the goddess. Those fish are not bought, rather a dead fish itself comes daily & lies near the shore of the beach.
