This beautifully built huge Madina Mosque is located in Laban area of Shillong, close to the garrison grounds.It is claimed to be the India's first glass Mosque. During night the mosque's beautiful glass work glows and glitters so beautifully. According to a news paper, The Telegraph, published from Kolkatta, October 11, 2012 report the mosque is 120 feet in height and 61 feet wide.

It was wonderful to visit the only Glass Mosque in India which is in Shillong. A beautiful Mosque, a big one, they say it is biggest in the North East Region. In the evenings, once lights come out, it looks gorgeous.

A nice Mosque and it is largest in Shilong. Felt some inner feelings there. Muslims must visit there.

Idealistic masjid in Shillong, for tourist and religious faiths while traveling Shillong, if you need some peace of mind you may visit this place.

If you are into admiring architecture then this place will interest you. I liked it. It was closed when I went so I could not go inside though. Probably the largest and/or only Mosque in Shillong.

This the old heritage mosque in Shillong. Centrally located at Laban. Shillong used to be capital of Assam.

The Grand Madina Masjid is a beautiful four storeyed masjid located in Shillong. It is not only the largest mosque in the North-Eastern region, but also the only glass mosque in India. It looks absolutely stunning when lightened with beautiful green lights in the evenings.

Madina Mosque is 10-15 minutes far from Police Bazaar. Only Muslims can go inside the mosque but other people can pray or see the mosque from the garden .

The Grand Madina Masjid is located about 10 - 15 mins from the Police Bazaar. The external facade of the mosque is very impressive with the central dome flanked by two tall minarets. Although we did not go inside, one can visit it especially in the evenings when it is very well lit.

A beautiful masjid. Extremely well maintained. If you are a Muslim please go there and pray for once. If you are a non-Muslim, at least go there to see the Masjid. Its made out of beautiful green glasses.
