Ward's lake is in the heart of the city and was built during British times for them to look over from their uphill cottages. It is indeed beautiful place and a unique experience. It was an experience of true joy, especially where kids had fun, boating int he lake and playing with ducks.
The expanse and greenery around the lake was nothing but magical. Delicious sunshine, refreshing rains, cool breeze and brilliance of green grass provided and overall wonderful experience .
Would recommend it!

Beautiful place located in the centre of the city and easily accessible. The whole complex has been very well maintained and is very neat, clean and pleasing to the eyes. Well maintained park, walkways for visitors and the lake in between make it an excellent picnic spot. A must visit during visit to Shillong for all.

A perfect picnic spot to enjoy with family, friends, kids. Located in the city center this is an ideal spot to enjoy boating and walks. The ducks in the water, well laid pathways with flowers and manicured gardens make this a picturesque spot.

Ward Lake in Shillong city is an artificial lake. Located in the city center of Shillong. It is one of the most visited tourist destination in Shillong city. The lake is surrounded by lush greenery with beautiful flower beds and cobblestone footpaths. There is a wooden bridge in the middle of the lake where one can feed the fishes. Boating is also available for those who are interested in some recreational activity.

Ward’s lake is located right in the Center of the city and is a well maintained lake with boating facilities and lot of ducks around. We visited on. A Tuesday and realised that the lake is closed for tourists on that day so just had a view from outside.

This is a beautiful combination of lake and botanical garden. Lake is very beautiful. There is boating also available at the lake. Small restaurant which sells noodles, sandwiches, juices is also available. Swans in the lake make it look even beautiful.

its a beautiful lake in Shillong. Its worth a visit. Nothing much to do .You can take a stroll around the lake and spend some time sitting on the green lawns around the lake. Very well maintained.

We went in the cherry blossom festival and it was very beautiful. But the man who boarded us into the boat didn't let my son control the rudder. He did it many times ago. He also cried because he couldn't hold the rudder. It was not good than the other experiences.

The historic park built in 1840 gives a historic image of the park setup. Must go in the evening, Ticket is Rs 20 for Adults. Also can enjoy street food nearby.

Ward's Lake is in the centre of Shillong Town. We visited the lake late in the morning when very few people were around. There is a garden surrounding the lake with lots of greenery and flowering plants. The paved walkway around the lake is good to walk on. Lots of birds were chirping during our visit; guess they like this place very much. There were a few ducks lazying around in the lake water. The lake, garden and the surroundings are clean and very well maintained. Paddle boat riding was available for those who wanted to indulge in some adventure.
