If you are at shillong and have travelled far to enjoy nature then nothing special about wards lake. Ot gives you what every park with boating could give you in your own city. You could skipp and add another more attractive point into your itinerary.

Ward's lake is a man-made lake to provide an attraction for the residents. Boating and the park make it ideal for the residents to spend time at the lake. But it is of less importance to a tourist, and ranks much lower.

Just a normal place like nanital lake or bhimtal, a lot of rush to get boat and cost a bit more than usual. technically arrangement and people there are too rude and don't care to talk properly. don't regret if you miss this place.
