Owner doesnt have courtesy how to treat tourists. We entered the museum inside as we couldnt find any reception. Owner came as soon as we entered and showed way outside without listening and talking. After sending us outside he then talked saying it is also a residential building you should ring bell and take appointment. Disappointed with his treatment we... More

Here you will find the numerous butterfly show cased of local forest and this collection commenced round about a 100 years ago by actual person responsible. Now his ancestor who have no idea of treating visitors is looking after this museum. She is rude and seems as if interested only in money.

We were very excited about visiting the museum but as soon as we went inside the compound, the lady there showed a very unwelcome and bossy attitude. She just cared about the money we had to pay and was not courteous at all. Though we liked the collection inside, the place was damp and not visitor-friendly. Our experience was further... More

We had heard so much about the Butterfly Museum however the experience of visiting the place made it no less than a disgusting one. Upon arrival, the lady of the house walked out ( this museum is a private owner's, situated at the basement of the house) and began lecturing us on how we should not tread on her wet... More

See entymology museum below. I may have gotten them mixed up. If it is in the lower floor of a private home then that's the one I am reviewing.

Outstanding collection of huge species of moths, butterflies, beetles, centipedes, millipedes and tarantula have been showcased by Mrs. Wankhar, daughter of bengali entomologist Dr. S. Sarkar who passionately started the ponderous job to collect the specimens from various parts of different countries. Vibrant glittering hue of fluttering wings of butterflies, unmatched size of the centipedes, rare glimpse of well preserved... More

Not a very big museum but well maintained. Very good for kids as it enhances their knowledge and they find it attractive too. Tickets are not expensive, so one can think of going there.

The Entomological Museum, better known as Butterfly Museum, is a treasure trove for nature lovers. Great collection of beautiful and exotic species of butterflies are on display along with a wide variety of insects and bugs. The owner charges an entry fee of Rs 50 and Rs 10 per photo if you intend to click some.
