This museum is the best ever museum i have visited till date. They charge only ₹100 as entry fees and is worth every penny spent. The customs and traditions of the entire north east india has been covered in detail. No wonder it has been rated as a must visit place by trip advisor. Overall a fantastic place!!!

Place is very nice. Outside is really charming. Must visit during stay in Shillong. But be sure if the gallery is open before you start. We found the gallery closed during christmas week.

We had little expectation from this museum as usually museums seem to be very boring and outdated but this one was an exception. The entry was royal and the manager there was very professional person with great personality. It made us feel like we were abroad in a developed nation. The museum consists of ancient culture of North east explained... More

Its a good introduction to the tribes and history/anthropology of the northeast - some of the stuff is generic but some is very interesting and the building is well maintained and extensive. A good one hour spent and you will at least learn 1-2 things from the visit

This museum is really well presented. One must go with children to develop their knowledge. Their roof is the best part. Don't miss it!

I was over helmed with the information that this museum offers. You can spend hours and hours if you love history, religion, anthropology, geography, arts, human evolution and culture studies. This museum has something to offer to every age group. And overall, very well maintained , well organized and well thought.
