As per the locals, the place was used for sacrificing animals and you can see lots of Monoliths used for the same purpose, also you cannot take back anything from the sacred forest. Overall a good experience. Since we were the only tourist inside the grove, felt a little haunted ;)

It's about 25kms from shillong. It's big patch of Forest wherein you can get in with Guide. Guide would take you and inform about earlier traditions and cultures. Even Guide would tell some lores about it. Near to place is sort of museum , which showcase different type of huts that Tribes build for themselves. It's real huts and one... More

I enjoyed the story talked by the local guide. It had choice of 40 minutes half round and 80 minutes full round. I took 40 minutes. The story is about the customs, the history, and the nature of the sacred forest. Nice ones. I learned something.
