Visit only after the monsoon. Else there is not much water. It is a longish trek, and you may see a feeble "waterfall". The walk in the wooded area is nice.

This waterfall in inside the brahmagiri wildlife sanctuary and we need to pay the entry fee of 50rs to visit. There is no direct bus transport to reach this place. We need to get down at a place called srimangala and from there we can hire an auto for 340 rs to and from. They will wait for an half an hour.We need to walk for 1km inside the sanctuary to reach this fall. This is a very beautiful and peaceful waterfall and crowd is little less. There is a temple of Lord shiva(Ramalingeswara) near to the entry gate

Even in February, there was a distinct stream of water falling. The crowd was thin. The waterfall being in the midst of the Brahmagiri Forest Range (which is also a wildlife sanctuary) keeps the surrounding pristine. At the gate, before you ascend, you need to pay entry fees for the waterfall area as well as the sanctuary (Rs. 25 + Rs. 25). There are a few eateries near the gate; the sugarcane juice stall is a hit. The paid toilet is clean.

Access:
The initial 30% of the distance is concrete footpath, but the rest is a combination of steps and unpaved footpath and its moderately steep. Its kind of a multi-tiered waterfall (3 to be precise). The top most tier has provision for taking a bath.

Crowd:
We went there in mid feb and there was not much crowd (barely 10-15 people), that's exactly how I prefer

Waterflow:
Waterflow was good, I have not seen the full flow, but I would say good enough !! The water is pristine clear and super cold even during noon time in feb. I believe bathing is allowed since there a proper platform right up the top most tier of the waterfall.

Please do note that there is no good restaurant to eat in and around the waterfall, so pack some food. There was a small shack selling maggie/pulav/fried rice kind of stuff, we did try but worth packing some food.

On 31st Oct , 2019 we left The Tamara Coorg at 0930 and reached Iruppu Falls a picturesque waterfall cascading along the Brahmagiri Mountain Range , 75 Km away at 1130 .

From the entrance , I trekked a mild path about a Km and reached a walk bridge . After crossing it , I climbed steps to reach the platform . The roaring , spectacular falls was in full flow .

There was a half a Km uphill walk along the stream to reach the first fall of Iruppu . The path was little slippery due to recent thunderstorm and covered with thick jungle on both sides . It is a captivating experience for nature lovers as well as photographers, for the scenery offers many picture-perfect frames.

I climbed up the steep slope very carefully to reach the second tier of the mesmerizing falls

There were changing rooms near the falls which was highly appreciable .

It is home to many Oakleaf butterflies and endangered butterfly species named Malabar blue Bandit .

Timings : 0600 – 1800
Entry fee : Rs 50
The Iruppu Falls is open from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM every day of the week.

The drive to this place itself is awesome takes you through misty Mountains and lush coffee plantations,
Literally this place is situated in the lap of mother nature.
Once you reach the parking you have to pay entry charges towards the waterfall, the walk/hike takes approx 20-30minutes one way.
But the walk is quite refreshing and worth it Evan if you don't workout daily , the hike cab be achieved .
The air is super fresh and the walk o through a forest and wildlife zone . Be careful and don't go off roading into the forest as there are lots of king Cobras and animals in the vicinity.
Very Instagram worth falls
Visited in December hence water force was less, so we could take dips in the water.
Also they have provisions of changing rooms separately for women and men :) .

A couple of minutes driver from Nagarahole forest...
A couple of minutes of walking from Parking place...
And you land up in HEAVEN. Treat for eyes as this place is located amidst lush green vegetation.

The pain of walking and climbing stairs are gone which you reach the peak point of this falls.
CAUTION: On the top of the falls it is bit slippery.

It’s placed in restricted area of Forest Department and entry fee is of RS. 50/- Have to walk for around a KM for 15-20mins from main gate...it would be difficult for people who couldn’t walk as lot of steps to be climbed...but at end it’s amazing many people were enjoying playing in the falls.. you can see the images it’s amazing view and lots of butterflies but couldn’t capture any one of them...

Visited Irupu falls situated appx. 75 kmts from Madikeri (Coorg dt) on 30th November. It took almost 2 hours to reach the forest entrance and from there another 700 mts trek! This is quoted as the 2nd highest fall in Karnataka after Jog falls ( Read in someone post). Not that difficult to get there. Steps are pretty ok though there are some places they have broken. You can see the damage caused by some of the land slides recently.
Fresh water and tasty too. Though fall has almost 2 to 3 stages up to climb which is completely looks unsafe, forest guard wouldn’t allow anyone. There will be 2 splits where water will be falling. Rocks are slippery towards the left and need to be cautious.
Spotted some snakes while we are walking towards the fall.
Entrance will be 50 rupees per head. There are few shops are parking for refreshments. Meals also served there at decent price. Men and women changing rooms are available.

Happy travelling. Cheers!
