This place is full of nature to be enjoyed. Theee are lots of valleys, rivers and waterfall. This place has a mesmerizing beauty. Moreover it is not yet a commercial hill station so dont expect a rush of tourists.
We visited in off season, most homestay were either closed or closing off for the season, hardly any tourist. Many wonderful options to stay on hills or near the river, we did both by staying at the Himalayan trout house and thereafter at sunshine valley....More
Tirthan valley is a place which still is intact without being destroyed by commercialization.
There are homestays and they cook great home-cooked meals. You will not find cafes there.

Summer season begins from March, but Feb could be a great off peak winter break if one is ok with low temperatures. I think one may encounter mild snow..more icy than snowy...though not as much as higher reaches and some hill stations recieve. This is what i gathered from local Folks who told me when i visited in June. Do recheck from other sources to be sure.
