We booked dinner cruise tour and it was good to go if you have spare time. They serves you Started (Very limited), one Mocktail and Dinner. They also have culture program but found very loud and not authentic. We attended culture program in Kaziranga which was far better than the program on Alfresco Grand. Food was good in taste and ambiance was okay. They also serves Drinks. Cost per person for dinner is 1300. Not Must visit but if you have spare time then you can try.

The nearest bus stop for Alfresco grand is machkhowa. We got a bus from near kamakhya temple to machkhowa. The ticket was Rs 20.00 and it took about 20 minutes from Kamakhya temple to machkhowa. From Machkhowa bus stop its less than 5 minutes walk towards ticket counter for Alfresco grand. Just besides the ticket counter is the statue of Lachit Borphukan . From machkhowa bus stop we took a bus to Paltan bazzar which costed Rs 15.00 per person and it took about 15 minutes We reached the ticket counter at 3:50 Pm on a Monday and all the tickets for upper deck were sold out for 4 Pm cruise. We took the lower deck cruise for Rs 400/person. We(2 of us) were the only people on the lower deck. The cruise started at about 4:05 Pm and ended at 5:00 pm. The cruise moves slowly and is is definitely a worth trip for tourists to see Brahmaputra. The seating is not that comfortable on the lower deck but its not bad either. Food and drinks are served during the cruise. Had a Beer and fish finger and fish finger was just OK. During the cruise live band performs about 6-7 Bollywood songs and it was good. I will suggest you to take 4-5 Pm as the sun sets early in this part and this cruise time is good. One can see the sun set during this time.Try for upper deck seats even though it is costlier by Rs 50/person compared to lower deck. Definitely a must do for tourists who visit Guwahati.

There are 2 trips-sunset and dinner trip.Opt for sunset trip .The trip is memorable as the motor launch takes you upstream and down stream of Brahmaputra river for an hour. The sunset view is mesmerising and beautiful. You need to book your seat on the upper deck well in advance. You can have drinks and snacks during the trip. The service is good.

The cruise we took was the sunset cruise and sailed for about 1 hour (or so). We were a big group and they accommodated us well on the upper deck. The food is not great so avoid! The views were amazing so that compensated for everything. The party and dancing is always at the lower deck, so make sure to spend some time there during the course! It’s fun. The cruise mostly is filled with outsiders/foreigners which is great for the economy but one thing that bothers me is the music selection. They play rock, English and Punjabi but no Bihu even though they are in Assam and the cruise is to reflect the beauty of assam! That was disturbing. I hope they improve that and play their music before pleasing foreign folks with their music. Please remember, people are here to embrace Assam not the cities and states they left to travel to Assam! Show them Assam and the culture that is beautiful and known for great music and folk dance. The tickets also seemed pricey since they had no food or beverages included in the Sunset Cruise.
