Beautiful white sand beach. Good amenities for tourists. This is the best place to enjoy a never to forget sunset. There are many shopping shacks and eating joint just outside. The place is also safe for swim. The beach closes around 6 PM

We experienced this through our stay in Adjoining Taj.
The beach is pristine, white sand and turquoise waters!
Tip : Walk to far left of the beach for rocky pictures.

Highly disappointed with my visit especially after hearing so much about it.
First the pros:
The beach is very clean no doubt and the waves were gentle.
Lifeguards were on duty and monitoring the swimmers.
Cons:
Visited with aged mother and young child. There is no place to sit at all on the beach. There are a few sun beds placed but as these are free, not paid service as seen in Goa where they are charged by the hour, people had left their bags on it and were bathing in the sea.
Its controlled by government so a huge sitting area was cordoned off for some VIPs visit who did not not turn up between 330-5pm atleast as long as we were there.
There are no shacks or anything else to eat on the beach. Small eateries are all near the taxi drop off point, almost a km away.
As we had visited primarily to view the sunset, it was exhausting to keep standing about for close to 2 hours.
It gets totally dark by 530/545pm
Would highly recommend to hire a good taxi guy who waits for you as not possible to get a taxi back from there directly. They send it from interiors which takes lot of time. Again no place to sit and wait near the taxi stand.. There are small roadside eating joints and few shops there.. some folks in shops are kind enough to lend a chair/stool for my mother to sit on..

This place is like any other beach in Andaman. Super crowded in the evenings. Suggest you go early morning for a walk or swim. You might need to cross a stream so better to do it when the tide is low in the morning. Don’t miss Niels cove which is close to this beach.

No need to travel to maldives or Mauritius to see white sand beach with blue water - we have it here in India our very isn Radhanagar beach. We enjoyed it at the luxury of the Taj exotica resort which had private entrance, evening sea side snacks, an alert coast guard. Amazing view of sunset

Bsnl works the best in Andaman.
Followed by Airtel.
Autos are available on the spot in Port Blair.
Cabs and autos have fixed rates between 2 places in Andaman. ( they don't operate km-wise)
Cabs you can google Or ask the hotel to help.
In Havelock/Neil, scooty is the best option.

What about the crocodile situation there? Even though saltwater crocodiles aren’t likely to swim in the open sea Lauren Failla got half eaten by a croc while snorkeling near that beach in 2010.

I had booked a package with Sinclair Hotel group which included our stay in Port Blair for 03 nights (including breakfast+ lunch or dinner) and two nights in Havelock Island. Sight seeing including North Bay Island and cruise (Macruz) was included. The food in both the hotels was perfect so we did not have to look for food outside. But to try food outside we did go to a sought Indian restaurant for pure veg food, which was equally delicious.

Hi, I am planning for the following travel itinerary in Andaman:
Day 1: Reach Port Blair in late afternoon. Planning to see sound and light show at the cellular jail in the evening. Then retire for the night.
Day 2: Take the morning cruise at around 9:45 a.m. to Havelock Island. Enjoy the beach and stay there for the night. If possible wanna go for the elephant beach.
Day 3: in case, it is not possible to cover elephant beach the previous day, can I cover it on next day early morning provided I have sufficient time to catch the afternoon cruise back to Port Blair?
Day 4: Visit to limestone cave through the Bartang forest and back to Port Blair in the evening.
Day 5: Return to Mumbai.
Will this itinerary be covered in a tour operator's package?

Elephant beach can be accessed via ferry or trekking.either way it takes time and I think it better if u keep it for day 3.enjoy kala patthar and Radha nagar on day 2. Can add on scuba diving also.
Hope this helps.
