Most scenic ride to the beach!
The way to this beach is quite scenic. From densely covered roads with forest trees to view of the sea on the other side. We really enjoyed the trip on our 2 wheeler towards the beach. We stopped at about 3 stops where we could take pictures of the beach and the forest area.

    Black rock the financial beach😀
Partially rocky beach 7 km from jetty. It is a relatively small beach compared to Radhanagar and Elephant beach. Basic facilities like Changing room, wash rooms and eateries available. Good for a 2 hour beach day

Quiet beach, great for a relaxed day with family or for couples
The beach is full of tiny corals, seashells and crushed almost powdered seashells. So you have to be very careful and light on your toes while waking towards the water, especially if you are very sensitive to such things. The changing rooms are literally tin sheds with doors, the floor is just a wooden plank, but something is better than nothing I guess! The ladies shower didn't have a door that could be latched so I had to request other random women to latch it from the outside and keep watch. The water is cold, there aren't enough places inside to hang things, since the condition of this was such, I didn't even bother looking at what the toilets looked like. In an absolute emergency, yes there are 2 toilets available, one for males and one for females. 10/- for changing rooms( no water), 10/- toilet use, 30/- shower use are the charges. There are small eateries that serve fish varieties, Maggi noodles, tea, coffee, biscuits, wafers, coconut water, bottled water etc, so you'll have something to nibble on, so you don't really have to carry things to eat. We carried hats, sunglasses, beach mat, toys for sandcastles, wet wipes, tissues, change of clothes. We wore swimming costumes in the water so it's easier to enjoy without normal clothes weighing you down. The approach road has markers indicating the road to the beach, so even if gps doesn't work you'll still be able to find your way. ( we didn't have that problem) there are several unofficial entry points along the way where people choose to park and get onto the beach, but the main beach can be identified with the life guard cabin, and the stalls lining the road and the majority crowd will be here. It's less crowded than radha nagar beach, quieter and family friendly also. We went at 1 noon and left at 6 evening. Best way to travel is two wheelers/ motorbikes, we are a family of 3 (7 year old kid) and we could easily travel on activa/ jupiter scooter. Approach road is lined with dense trees and its a wonderful ride to the place. The beach itself( waters) is enjoyable and this should be on your list for sure!

    Soothing waters of kalapathar beach
Great beach front , very tide stores selling knickknacks , excellent tender coconuts , good trinkets and shell art. Safe surroundings. Only wish the sands were softer like Radha nagar or elephant beach . Great view from beach and a lovely drive along Kalapathar .

The crystal clear waters, white sands, pathway covered with thick forests and unique species of birds on the way accurately describe this beach.

Very rocky and dirty beach. Lots of people. It’s impossible to swim there. No place for sitting or laying. No picturesque views.

We loved the travel part to the beach and it was a lovely trip to the tip of Havelock Island. It is quite thrilling during the mornings as the sunrise here is quite enthralling.
