Lots of little stores. Pintoresco. Family friendly. Looking forward to candle light activities. Music, food, activities.

Roscoe Village is a restored 1830's canal town, once a major stop on the Ohio and Erie canal. The visitor's center offers a good overview of the building of the canal and life at that time. There are several period homes and businesses with in character docents. There are also many arts and crafts shops and restaurants mixed in on the... More

Great little town. We visited during the Apple Butter festival and did the canal tour. Spent the whole day visiting historic buildings and eating great food. Friendly people everywhere. Thanks for the good day!

Every year we try to make it to Roscoe Village for the Apple Butter festival. Lots of crafts, most of the shops are open and everyone is really friendly. The shops offer a multitude of items, and the River Ridge Leather shop is a favorite stop. If you are looking for a nice, slower paced day out, this is worth... More

This is an amazing collection of historical buildings, crafters, musicians and food. Visit the Village Smith, watch Apple butter being made over an open fire or ride on a historical Canal Ride as the settlers did. Don't miss this wonderful fall Apple Butter Festival! You won't be disappointed. (Psaltry or harp photo)

This really shouldn't be called "historic" but it is cute. The four blocks contain a few stores and places to eat, so it is good for a few hours on a fall afternoon. Be careful walking around as the brick sidewalks are quite uneven. Most of the goods in the stores are not local.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry you didn't experience the history of our buildings. The sidewalks are indeed a much needed project which is being addressed and we appreciate your feedback as a guest to our Village. More

for a historical village. A majority of the shops that were open are retail or restaurants. If you want to go inside any of the historical buildings you must purchase a ticket. The village is only about 1 block long and a city street runs through the small village. We missed the history tour at 1:00pm, which is 2 hrs... More

Nice little place with shops down both sides of the street and a couple of restaurants to eat at. Not much to do but a neat place to stop and check out.

We arrived Friday afternoon with enough time to check out a few shop before they closed at 5:00. Shop owners were all very much and helpful. We then took a walk at the triple locks park that we had to ourselves. Returned Saturday morning at 10:00 to shop and take in the sights. It was a relaxing visit. Great getaway... More

Roscoe Village has changed over the past several years. It's not the "historic Roscoe" of before. But it is still worth a visit. Buy your tour pass at the Visitors Center and visit all of the attractions along Whitewoman street. Eat at either the Warehouse for great sandwiches and entrees or Capt. Nyes for pizza. Be sure to walk along... More

Thank you for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed your experience. Captain Nye's is no longer in the Village, the place you are referring to is "Uncorked". The Canal Boat runs on weekends only after Labor Day weekend. October 21-23 will be the last days for the Canal Boat this year, during our Apple Butter Stirrin' Festival. We invite... More
