The Western Reserve Historical Society has so much to offer. We started with the Crawford Auto Aviation Museum which had a special exhibit of Ferraris but also its own collection of beautiful antique cars, a carousel ride, and then found ourselves in the historic Hay McKinney mansion with period furnishings, mannequins and gas lighting. Fascinating. I was surprised to see the mansion will not be staying open after next June. Please visit and support this wonderful historical property.

Enjoyed visiting the Cleveland History Center on a recent visit to the city. The museum contains a beautiful old carrousel that was from Euclid Beach that you can ride if volunteers are availablr. There are nice paintings inside the museum , a section dedicated to the history of Cleveland and it is attached to a mansion that offers tours at times as well as a library. There is a parking garage across the street and itis near the Cleveland Art Museum as well as the Science Center. Admission is reasonable and they also have a nice gift shop. The history center admission also allows you to see the Crawford auto and aviation museum as well which is together in this 2 floor museum. The car collection is large and wonderful to see for any antique car lover!

Due to circumstances beyond my control I could not attend, I tried to get a refund. This option was not available.

My two daughters and I met for spring break in Cleveland and as I am a retired history teacher and daughter number 2 is currently teaching history, we planned a trip here. My favorite room was the Cleveland Starts Here section and my girls liked different areas. It is a bit quirky but we enjoyed our time here. You can wander on and on throughout. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't more general Ohio history but we enjoyed our time here and would recommend.

If you love cars, you will love the lower level. I'm not that into cars but still enjoyed seeing the old Chrysler woody wagons, Cadillacs, and motorcycles. My favorite thing was the old Euclid Beach Carousel. There is a room with a cast of the original superman (I didn't know Superman originated in Cleveland), a replica of Neil Armstrong's space suit, a giant Chief Wahoo, and other memorabilia. I wish there were more things like that. (More famous people, products, moments) There were a lot of nostalgic costumes that I wasn't that fond of.

We spent a couple of hours in the museum looking at the exhibits on Cleveland history, old cars, motorcycles and furnishings from the home which is now the museum. There was also an old carrousel that was operating for anyone that wanted to take a ride.

It was fun and educational. Live carousel ride. Price not bad. The mansions are not totally open at public. Paid parking at street.

Very cool experience and the Car exhibit has just opened so I’m glad I got to see that, as well as the Women in politics exhibit.

The traveling collection at the museum was motorcycles, something I have little interest in. The rest of the museum, the older parts, have cool stuff about Cleveland.

This is a good place to get a broad overview of Cleveland's history. The main floor has pictures, written details, audio and mini-exhibits that allow you to get as much info as you desire. The lower level houses dozens of antique cars as well as a 13 foot boat that was used to sail across the Atlantic Ocean.
Free ride on the Carousel was fun, too!
The only drawback was not having places to sit down and rest.
