Worth the trip

Despite the 65 degree afternoon, this place was a winter wonderland! We only did the tubing. I would suggest doing the group rate (15 people or more) to save $5. $25 for 3 hours... read more

I've visited the Avalanche Snow Tubing area twice now over a few years, and will continue to come back. $25 for 3 hours of tubing is a good price. Mad River does a great job of updating their website regarding snow and snow making conditions. The employees at the top of the hill are fun, chatty, enthusiastic, and smiling. They... More

We are from Alabama and don't see much snow, and wanted to do some tubing while visiting my sister in Ohio. My nine-year-old and seven-year-old had a blast! It was their first time snow tubing, and they loved it. There are a few hills to choose from. Some have more humps and some are faster than others. There are two... More

Despite the 65 degree afternoon, this place was a winter wonderland! We only did the tubing. I would suggest doing the group rate (15 people or more) to save $5. $25 for 3 hours is 1. A long time out there and 2. A lot of money for the value. It's very muddy when the snow melts and the parking... More

´Tis a grand day. February temperatures soar to 58 degrees with bountiful sunshine. The Mad River Ski Lodge burned to the ground in 2015, and a grand new lodge has risen from the ashes. The new Mad River Ski Lodge would work very well in the Rockies. There are new fireplaces, café, bar, dining, and entertainment area. We like the... More

We had a nice time hanging out at the new Ski Lodge, then snow tubing with friends. Our group travelled from three areas: Louisville , KY , Southern Indiana, and Indianapolis, IN. We stayed in a hotel in Dublin, OH. Great fun for all ages!

We traveled from Florida, determined to find some snow for my daughter's birthday. We ended up at Mad River Mountain and loved every second!! Although we are clueless rookies, we were totally at ease because of the friendly staff and low-stress atmosphere. We arrived at about 7:30 on Friday night and had fun tubing until 11 PM. We skied the... More

Our first visit to Mad River Mountain. My kids are 12, 10, and 6. The ticket line took about 20 mins and a kind lady in line showed us how to put on our tickets. There was no direction about what to do or where to go. We dressed in the car bc we saw everyone else doing that. There... More

I grew up going to Mad River to ski. It's been a long time, but I'm now starting to take my kids there. There are a lot more trails, which is nice, but I've mostly been stuck on the training hills. The new lodge is nice. By nice I mostly mean it has a much better layout and more space.... More

this place is great for families and people of all ages. skiing seems to be enjoyed by all. found the food and beverages to be somewhat pricy. would recommend bringing your own. have gone here quite a bit and the new lodge will be nice someday, but I miss the nostalgia and charm of the old one.

We try to get to mad river every week to snowboard. The staff is great, facilities are top notch, and it's the best skiing/snowboarding venue in Ohio! Our kids love the friendly instructors, and we love the well groomed slopes! And they have a fantastic military discount!
