Via Ferrata de la Grande Fistoire in "le Caire" Near Sisteron and near the lake of Serre-Ponçon is the village of Cairo, "Lou Caïre", rock in Provençal. On this calcareous wall of 250 m of Tyrolean and Nepalese height, footbridge, slope, bridge(deck) (150 m, 130 m and 220 m) follow one another: one of the most beautiful French hikes(rides).

We aren't rock climbers but loved this and always felt safe. Some challenging bits but definitely achievable. Zip lines to finish are great fun too.

This was an exhilarating climb, it took us 3.5 hours to climb all but the very last small leg, which is an overhang, you can cut off before this last bit. You must be fit, determined and have a very good head for heights, most...More
