Scenic walk

I walked... read more

We really enjoyed this walk for its lovely coastal scenery of granite boulders and ocean views. And it wasn't too busy compared to the number of people walking to the island. I recommend going anticlockwise as this way you go down the steep steps at...More

This tiny island which derives it’s name from the plentiful granite boulders is just a short walk from the mainland over a lovely historical bridge. The town is known for the “horse powered” tramcar which is pulled by lovely Clydesdale horses. It’s an easy crossing...More

Great that there is a free alternative to get across to Granite Island, a nice walk and keep an eye out for the fish and the sting rays at dusk. Walk over and after walking around the island take the tram back ;-)

Easy walk to the island (takes about 15-20 mins) and a chance to get some good photos. There’s a cafe on the island, closed when we were there, but looks good. You can also return on the evening to watch the penguins return to their...More

Lovely easy walk, couple of hours, didn't see any penguins but had a lovely afternoon, taking photos of the beautiful views and the great trees and vegetation. Bring sun shade and water and you're ready to go! ... (lost silver pendant)
